Well I think I have it right. This is my first go at creating a character. If I've messed up anything please tell me so I can fix it.

Point buy with 36 points, max HP for the first level, average rounded up for subsequent levels.

I'm going to go with a diviner.  With all that unexplored territory, there is inevitably going to be some nerd who feels like she should be making geography not just learning it. 

Edit: Would it be possible for me to play as an intelligent cat, affected by the Awaken animal spell?

Orgarr the Mule (Unfinished)

Orgarr will generally shun violence unless he or those he cares for are threatened. If combat seems to be the most viable option, he will unsling his weapon, and engage in melee, fighting defensively and attempting to use his extended reach to keep the enemy back. If fighting in or around water, such as on a canoe, he will prefer to use his spear. He will also prefer his spear if the enemy seems to be a powerful melee attacker, so he can keep the foe at range. He will prefer his hammer when fighting multiple enemies, in less defensible positions, when enraged, when time is of the essence, or in any situation where the spear is not significantly more useful. If he or those around him are significantly injured, he will become enraged. When enraged, he will forgo his defensive posture, attempting to charge the offending enemy and inflict as much damage as possible to them. If he is disarmed while not enraged, he will back off and switch weapons. While enraged, he will attempt to grapple his opponent. If he needs to disable an opponent non-lethally, he will similarly attempt to disarm and grapple the foe. When fighting anything supernatural or otherworldly, such as creatures of the night or outsiders, he will prefer his hammer. He will reserve his stomp for situations where he judges it either particularly opportunistic or necessary. He will use his hammer against creatures weak to silver, as well as anything of an unnatural or otherworldly origin. He will use his axes only when he cannot engage in melee. He will use his sword against creatures weak to cold iron. He will also use the melee weapon with the most appropriate damage for an enemy type, unless another weapon would do more damage.

Since I will essentially be playing a packmule here, if there is anything you'd like me to carry around, let me know.

Hell, I'll join in on this! The marching order thing is an awesome idea for PBP games in my opinion.

As for what you could use... I make a cleric! A nice easy but flexible class that I can use to buff/heal/turn undead/smack something around with.
