Make a campfire and use it to heat the waterskin until the ice melts. There's not much you can do in the way of prevention, but it's so easy to melt the ice that it's not an issue.

It is, in a way; you have to mod the material to have a fixed above-freezing temperature. I don't remember the exact tag, but you can borrow it from the Nethercap raws and copy it onto the leather template, upping the temperature to a liquid-friendly value.

To be accurate, you'll need:

1) make a campfire
2) (I)nteract, choose ice
3) choose "heat ice"
Then you have water.

If you manage to find some alcohol, it won't freeze. I believe blood won't freeze either.

if you have water coatings you can also just hang out by the fire and the coatings will melt on their own after a couple of turns
