Picking a spammer to report?
« on: October 18, 2013, 06:57:30 pm »

The 60-second limit on reporting a post is a major pain in the butt when it comes to hoovering these things up.

I propose going for the one with the fewest views and reporting that one first.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Indeed.
It's hard to report all the necro posts from TalonisWolf, when you're imposed with such a limit.

The limitation should be removed, it's a mayor pain in the butt to have to wait for flagging another spammer.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

Only in England, apparently. Where are the shady kitchen deals for the rest of us? >:(

That's where the largest black market is. English food tends to destroy kitchens, see, so they're always in high demand.

My favorites are the ones that try to imitate "MMO gamer culture" with randomly generated sentences trying to look like conversations about WoW, LoL, or whatever.

Also why not just add a few more mods so one is on 24 hours most of the time, it's not like they cost money :P? I am sure there are enough active volunteers with good reps that would be willing..

Like the one earlier saying to level up like a pine tree or whatever lol? I can't help but laugh sometimes at the stupidity.

...

I'm still new to this, so could someone tell me how you tell if you're necroing?

It's probably something obvious (or else there would be more necros), but I have a frustrating habit of not noticing really simple things. You have my permission to rant at me so long as it's via PM so I don't start a flame war.

Thank you, and sorry for being moronic- feel free to call me out on a necro via pm anytime!

A necro is a post in a thread that's dead. "Dead" can vary in meaning. 2+ months is sort of a necro, although it's probably acceptable if the only real alternative is making a thread in a situation that doesn't make sense.

A true necro is reviving a thread from a very long time ago; i.e. last year.

Edit: Just noticed the earlier post referring to you. I thought you were just curious about what counted as a necro. If you seriously don't understand even slightly about stuff like this and aren't just a troll, you should probably lurk for a bit and learn forum etiquette.

Just look at the date of the last post :P(under the thread title of each post), if it's more than about 3 month's old do not post in it.

My general advice is the longer since the last post, the more substantial your next post must be. The caveat here is that, depending on context, your post might be comprehensive enough to need a new thread regardless of how old the original is. Just my 2¢ though...

So, for a half-year/year old thread...
