Though it won't give you hundreds of hours of entertainment due to the length, I've really enjoyed the interactive movie-game The Walking Dead by Telltales. It's a game that I'll probably never forgot and can really drag you in. All episodes have been released so you could theoretically finish it in one go.
They also have a new series, The Wolf Among Us, which has had its first episode released a couple of days ago. Seems really promising as I loved the first episode, but the other episodes still need to be released.
Prototype 2 is one heck of an action rollercoaster. Certainly loved the action part of the game, although the story of the first Prototype was a lot more interesting. If you ever felt like throwing tanks at helicopters, you should give this game a shot.
Hotline Miami is an arcade'y like topdown stealth/shooter game that could be described as a fun and unique experience. No review or explanation could sell this game well, the only reason I bought it was because it was in sale but it was a LOT better than expected.
Multiplayer:
Dungeon Defenders/Orcs Must Die 2: Both fun 3D co-op tower defense games. I think I've spent more than 100 hours in Dungeon Defenders, although the general consensus seems to be that Orcs Must Die 2 is more fun. The game has a lot of DLC, but you don't need it to have fun.
Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2. The campaign is a small-scale tactical strategy game with RPG elements, which is fun for a single playthrough, preferably co-op, but I've spent hundreds of hours playing The Last Stand which is an action survival game with RPG elements. You level up one of the 3 (or seven, with retribution + hero DLC) and unlock new gear. The gear defines your character.
For the 3DS, you can never go wrong with pokemon!
It was actually pretty hard to pinpoint games that were released after 2010, but these are all games that I've enjoyed on these platforms.
