Well I know my turn is coming up soon so I'll prepare, Jool has so many nice moons to set up future rescue missions on. :P

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

For sure, I'll need one if I succeed. Which is unlikely

EDIT:
Good news everyone! I just made it back from Munar orbit ALIVE. I may not have landed on the mun, but I think this is well deserved since I always got stuck here and required a rescue which would require another rescue until there are enough things trapped in orbit that I can't get any back at all. And this is my reaction to that:

I returned back to the mun! because awesome science is awesome, but even simpler science is tasty!

I explored the mun farside crater. report shortly, here's the save:

unlocked advanced exploration! I really missed stairs.

how do I link an imgur album? :(

Hey, not to be a dick, but could you move general KSP discussion over to the normal KSP thread?

So any chance we'll have docking ports by my turn?
I want to make a Science Station that orbits the Sun.
Its purpose of course being to think up a way to LAND on the Sun :P

Theoretically, no. The sun does have a surface, but it'll just explode your ship from heat long before you get to touch it.

But, if you had, say, Deadly Reentry and didn't mind carrying the weight of 100-something heat shields...

Wouldn't the heat shields themselves get hot enough to fry your craft?

That's why you have a hundred of them. It'll take a really long time for the heat to get through all of them.

And, let's face it. You're flying into the sun. You're probably not flying out again. Just enough time to get those delicious science points transmitted.
