Yeah, I like the tech system. One could easily max out the tech tree in about 6 flights, so it's nice to leave something to research for the next dorfs in line.

Round two, hm? Looks like I've got to do something big. Having managed to teach myself the ways of orbital docking, there's a lot more cool stuff I can do, anyway.

Is launching 2 vehicles in the same turn permitted, when under certain circumstances (such as refueling pods, multiple space station expansions etc.)?

You could probably convince the person before you to set up for you, or be the awesome wingman and set stuff up for the next guy. Or even take the bullet and wait an entire extra round before launching a second rocket. But I personally don't think it would be fair to get a double-launch. The rules are already centered around getting one chance.

My crowning achivement will be if I ever land on the mun. If I accomplish that in this group, I'll bawl my eyes out in joy... Then someone has to rescue me off of the mun, cause I'm horrible with rocket design at the moment, and I keep missing it by running out of fuel halfway there

Engineer will help. At the very least you'll get useful numbers.

Its mostly the more fuel I put on, the heavier it is and the less faster it can get off the ground. I got one rocket to orbit the mun but the pilot proceeded to slam his face into the moons surface at high speeds after ejecting, so the craft orbits the mun. I only ejected him for stuff to send back to command through eva reports but I hit the let go button and when I used the jet pack to try and get back on, he got into a different orbit and landed on the moon, skidding across its surface... Then I never got a craft or even THAT craft to get close to the mun or its orbit ever again

Engineer will help with that. You can find a better balance between dV and TWR and launch rockets like a boss.

Download the mod from SpacePort and put it in your GameData folder inside the install. Then you can access it in career mode by going to the research, looking at the initial research node and clicking on the three new parts. Then, in the VAB, just take any of the parts (they're under the science tab) and stick them anywhere on your ship and you'll get a popup with all kinds of info.

No need for calculations here, just asparagus!

When you add more fuel to an asparagus it becomes FASTER at launch instead of slower.

Yeah, I was not happy when the chutes ripped the capsule off the lander. I had four more chutes on the rest of the machine, and I was only going a couple hundred meters per second. Practically standing still compared to the orbital velocities.
