As a once-time ruin-looter/squatter, always keep an eye out for anything that's unattended that might come in handy. While the best stuff tends to be extremely well guarded, its not impossible to come across something interesting. I remember coming across a ql 90 longsword in some ruins once, that really made my day ;).

I've taken unattended carts, chest, even stuff like fsb's and bsb's if I can take them. Of course, I have limits and I tend to respect most well maintained buildings and don't break into locked containers/houses etc. unless its obvious that its been abandoned.
I found a q80-ish two-handed sword today while wandering.  It was in a 'box pile' in a small pit.

Or was it like, q40-ish...  Can't remember.  Not a weapon I'm likely to use, in any case.

In a related vein to Girl's comment, is there any half-decent way for a new character to earn silver on the more established servers?
I was playing on Inde a few weeks ago and asked about this, apparently you can usually net around 2~4 silver for 1,000 bricks. Obviously the consensus was that this was far smarter to do if you got some premium first and then took care of the rest with the gritty brick work. I also seen a guy selling cuttings for a decent amount of silver, not sure how viable that route is.

At least there is a lot of land in xanadu - if you don't need to live beside water. If you need water its an entirely different story.

The new crafting interface made that much easier.

Well back to square 1 equipment wise again. Got myself lost and ended up getting massacred by hordes of animals. There was no way I could deal with 2 hell hounds at once with the equipment I had. (they tore thru my ql 75 studded leather like it was tissue paper, since if offers little protection against the attacks they inflict) Talk about a nasty surprise for resubbing...

Of course the fun begins again, to build up from near nothing again

I noticed it, but didn't look very closely.  What is that new interface about, really?

Really it just seems to be about eliminating the need for constantly right clicking into sub menus, which is very useful especially when you're making a TON of stuff in one sitting.

@Micro102, It's probably not as bad as it seems, if you do the math on how many planks one must chew through in the first couple days of starting out it would probably boggle your mind lol. At first it's probably miserable though, but with at least capped skill and an imp'd chisel it's probably not so bad TBH.

We're at the south portion of Bay J, or whatever people have called it, north of Linton.

North of Linton... eh? Well, don't attack the random newbie heading there if you see him.

edit: So after a few hours of exploration I HAVE FOUND MILKRUN! Putting my tent in the cave and logging off there, don't touch it! xD

Been spending most of my time just wandering, I think I made it all the way to the northern coast of the J shaped body of water north of Linton before buggering back towards the southern coast of it.

Edit: At hill fort town, so a bit directionless atm
