You tell him you're willing to help, but you'll need a weapon. In response to this, Hileal grabs a dagger from a scabbard hidden by his cloak and gives it to you.
"Try to avoid getting killed. It wouldn't be conducive to the upcoming mission."
After this rather macabre statement, you head for the grove. None of the wildlife bother you on your way there, but it would seem that a large number of Ley stones have formed, as you can hear an equally large number of kobolds, even from outside the forest.

Under the Status spoiler, there are now some new stats. Namely, Attack, Hit Chance, and Dodge. This stats will only be displayed in scenarios in which you are likely to get into a fight, such as the Ley Grove. Attack shows how much damage you will do to an enemy if you hit. Hit Chance shows what you add to your roll to hit an opponent, while Dodge shows what your opponent needs to roll to hit you. There is also Speed, which shows how many squares you can move in a given turn. This stat will appear whenever you're on a gridded map.
As for combat, each participant gets two actions: A move action, and a standard action. Your move action allows you to go at your speed, and you can sacrifice your standard action to move at double your speed. A standard action allows you to cast a spell, use an item, pick something up, or attack, among other things. When you attack, you roll a 20 sided dice, and add your Hit Chance. If this exceeds your target's dodge, you hit, and deal the displayed amount of damage.
Keep in mind that the numbers in the Status spoiler reflect your current equipment. So, for example, if you were more accurate with a crossbow than a dagger, then your Hit Chance would go up when you wield a crossbow.
As for my absence, I've been meaning to resume posting sooner. However, schoolwork has gotten rather frantic, and I've begun playing in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, so I've been rather busy. I apologize for the delay, and I should be able to update more often.
