Make a quick list of spells we want to create, and put the list in our pocket.

1. Dice Divination. Predict the outcome of the next roll some dice will make.
2. Detect Thoughts. Listen in on the surface thoughts of someone you're looking at.
3. Combat Prediction. Recipient reflexively knows what's coming in combat and it helps him dodge and attack.
4. Wizard Eye. Create an invisible floating point of view that you see through. It can move around as fast as a human walking. It can't phase through solids but can slip through keyholes and under doors.

Then, answer the door. Try very hard to not look surprised at whatever is on the other side. We should know, after all.

You open the door, and a Wizard that you had briefly met when you first arrived. His name was Jackson Vint, if you remembered correctly.
"Hello. Selena, correct? We have recently caught wind of some artifact in the possession of one of the nearby goblin caves. It's considered courtesy to ask a new member on any finds, providing they aren't too dangerous. You won't be going in on your own, of course, you'll be accompanied by a few other Enchanters and Sorcerers. If you're interested, go talk with Sren for a bit more info."
Jackson leaves, and you jot down the four spells you've decided to work towards.

New spell idea for the list:

Arcane Tripwire: Imbues an object with a simple spell that serves as the trigger to another spell based on parameters defined by the caster.

You wander about the keep, trying to find or borrow some supplies. One Sorcerer, named Alkur, gives you an unusual looking gem. It seems to glow from within. He tells you it's specially made to work with the Staff of the Order you should have gotten when you came here. You can activate it with the staff and release a spell trapped within. This one contains the spell Planestep, which you can use to escape into the Ethereal Realm, allowing you to escape from an enemy who overwhelms you, or get to places you couldn't normally reach.
You then go to speak with Sren.
"Ah, hello. You're the new Enchanter, correct? Well, if you want to go to find the artifact in the nearby goblin caves, Nazzurag, you'll be accompanied by two Sorcerers and one Enchanter. Namely, Solvius, a Sorcerer using earth magic, Hileal, another Sorcerer specializing in healing, and Zachariah, an Enchanter with darkness magic. They're meeting up outside the cavern, about half an hour to the north-east, in about two day's time. Should the artifact prove useful, you may get promoted to the rank of Sorcerer."

"I do hope the artifact will be useful. Thanks for the info."

Who can sell us traveling rations and drink, weather-appropriate clothes, backpack, tinderbox, and torches?

We seem to have nothing to trade for these things anyway. So, try to see if these three are hanging around here. Maybe we can help one of them out before the trip?

You say that you hope the artifact is useful, and thank Sren. Afterwards, you begin mentally listing some items which may help when you remember that you had no money. Given that, you begin searching for one of the other three magi going with you. You come across a Sorcerer healing a badly wounded Enchanter who you assume is Hileal, likely as a result of a miscast. After he has finished tending to the Enchanter, you speak with him, anld he confirms that he is who you think he is. You ask him for work, and he tells you one of his spells consumes Ley Stones. They aren't rare, and most shops don't bother to stock them, so he just gets his from a small grove on a Ley line. However, he's a bit busy at the moment, and he's willing to give you some silver for them. Kobolds like to use them as jewelry, though, so there's usually one or two in the place.
