Draft your entire fortress. Mass Attack. See who survives.

If my fort were as secure as OP's then this would be exactly my first choice of possible solutions.

Children you rescue shouldn't behave like rabid beasts.  I guess your regular companions shouldn't act like rabid beasts either.
I think that's a little more impossible than I'm likely to have time for.

1) Can they shoot webs across multiple z-levels, or are they restricted to shoot things on their own z-level? 2) I heard that titans and forgotten beasts can step across z-levels, if I carve an open space above it, will it be able to climb up?

Really? My expirience with webshooter is radically different.

Perhaps it's because I always had around 60-70 soldiers and my military never got to be "webbed enough" in beast's eyes.

I'm at the other extreme. I tend to run low-pop fortresses with just one highly-trained melee squad and one marksdwarf squad. The numbers must make all the difference.

'The forgotten beast, Nubpo Kulquazi, has arrived! A gigantic quadruped composed of blue diamonds. It has large mandibles and a bloated body. Beware its deadly webs!'

Seriously, nobody recommends trapping it in a silk farm?!
Now I know the details will surely be complicated, but how can you resist clothing your legendary warriors in blue diamond silk cloaks?!

Silk farms can wait. Violence take precedence over practicality. Also unless it has wings or dodges an attack it should be able to climb a z level.

So, I have to cave in the level two z-levels above it to kill it? Great....

well, you could always cheat like a bitch and make dorfs [WEB_IMMUNE] so they can face it directly, or ignore it until it leaves of its own accord. Or do what these guys say who clearly have no stomach for crushing things and try to make a silk farm out of it.

I suppose I could do that. Do FB's attack goblins? I know they don't attack elk birds.....the smug bastards.

They seem to target anything belonging to a civ, so goblins may be able to cripple it if you're lucky.

Nah, I just want him to spray silk all over the guy. I think I'm going with the silk farm. A cave-in would destroy my worker's den anyway.
