So who will stop the elf lover now that Modi and Jackal are dead?

That would be me. And possibly BlackMuffin's dwarf. Shining light probably takes over in the power vacuum. Or maybe he's installed by Asmoth as a "puppet ruler" who has his own ideas and takes power.

I actually did dwarf Shining a while back, and I apologize that I forgot to mention it earlier.

Have you updated the save yet?

Oh hells yes. Dwarf me and sign me up for overseer. Any male dwarf with military skills (may or may not actually be in the military).

CRIMINAL PROFILE 03-4471-W
NAME: Unknown
ALIAS: Rhaken
(Enclosed is a portrait of the perp, taken upon date of first encarceration)
CRIMINAL RECORD
  • Juvenile delinquency
  • Theft of military property
  • Hunting without a permit
  • Conspiracy to commit murder
  • First, second, third and nineteenth degree murder
  • Rabble-rousing
  • Armed robbery
  • Arson
  • Gem smuggling
  • Various gang activity
  • Resisting arrest
  • Disrespect toward officers of the law and the Mountainhomes
  • Escaping prison
  • Public sobriety (unconfirmed)

HISTORY
As far as investigators could determine, subject's parents died while he was still a child - upon interview, subject cannot seem to recall who they were. Grew up as an urchin in the backstreets of the mountainhomes, amidst the squalor and the filth. Believed to have engaged in petty theft since the age of 3.

Enlisted in the military at age 12. Served for 1 year. Deployed during siege. Survived unscathed. Believed to have stolen various military supplies while on active duty.

First confirmed criminal offense at age 14 - upon becoming a food hauler. Believed to steal food whenever on the job. Incarcerated for 2 months for petty theft.
First serious criminal offense - age 16. Broke into the guard barracks and absconded with a set of leather armor, crossbow, munitions, and an axe. Uncaught and undiscovered for two years. Hunted illegally in the Queen's preserve in the meantime. When caught by a gardener, put a bolt through the poor dwarf's lung. Gardener died of his injuries while hospitalized. Was encarcerated for 1 year upon discovery.

3 years after release, was found to be running a gang, operating out of the outskirts of the Mountainhome. Gang activities included armed robbery, racketeering, arson, smuggling and contract assassination. Several violent engagements with officers of the law. Brought in by the military after being given away by our informant. Summarily hammered, and encarcerated for life. Escaped soon after. Reincarcerated recently, and shipped off to penal colony Steelhold to rot for the rest of his miserable life.

PROFILE
While the subject appears to be a balanced individual on the surface, psychological examination has revealed this to be a convincing front - subject exhibits various violent tendencies, and near total disregard for the wellbeing of strangers. Appears to be motivated by a thirst for power, wealth, or just plain adrenaline.

Is a convincing speaker and actor, capable of swaying others to his ideals. Will manipulate friend and foe alike. Completely unafraid to resort to violence. Exhibits strong paranoia, never fully trusting another. Regards "friends" as a resource to exploit. Displays decent understanding of military tactics and guerrilla warfare.

PROCEDURE
Handle with extreme care. Maintain supervision at all times. Limit prisoner interaction with other inmates. Do not engage prisoner in conversation. Avoid responding to prisoner unless absolutely necessary. Inspect cell daily. Apply immediate solitary confinement if prisoner displays suspicious behavior. Chain to bench during work hours. Resort to violence or threats of violence if prisoner refuses to comply with orders.

((This paper was found in the middle of the desert, twenty years after the foundation of Steelhold. It is believed it fell off the warden's wagon during the journey.))

Probably. You came to deliver the word of the True Gods anyways, so you'll probably end up saving everyone from the elf-lover as a fun bonus.

Save us from the time of trial
And deliver us from the elf lover?

I think Asmoth will lead the revolt against him, though I think Gob, Rock Eyes, and Shadow are the only "guards" left and try and reclaim power...

I was going to say, my dwarf isn't going to lead anything (yet).  He's going to stay in the shadows, watching and manipulating.

I think Gob would probably lead them. Everyone has been treating him horribly, and isn't he a berserk?

No, I'm sure Gob is alive. You said the only casualties were Modi and Jackal.

And I'm 100% certain my beating didn't kill him

I don't think Asmoth is the type to lead a revolution. That's not to say that Lenehan might wake up one morning with no lungs.
