Incognita - xcom meets corporate spying and steampunk
« on: October 15, 2013, 05:24:18 pm »

Klei announce a while ago a new project they would be starting called Incognita it would be a mix of xcom style tactical fighting and corporate espionage with steampunk thrown in.

Not much in the way of information has been released just yet put there Is currently a alpha out which is playable now and the game costs $20

Main website: http://www.incognitagame.com

Edit: RPS interview giving a bit more insight into the game http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/07/02/dont-starve-dev-on-its-espionage-xcom-incognita/

I would check Klei forums for more info but they seem to be down for me right now.

There is a TotalBiscuit gameplay video showing a bit of... well, gameplay.

It is TotalBiscuit, though, so if you prefer your games played by even vaguely competent people stay away.

What a strange and beautiful world I beheld, but dangerous too, I was certain. And I was friendless and homeless. And so I prayed.

Well the only thing i don't like about TB is his love to rant about fps every time its slower than 60.
Other than that i'd say he's competent.

While i find the combat section decent, any word on a strategic view or something similar? Else using XCom is kinda irrelevant since there is only combat...

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

I think the proper term they're looking for is dieselpunk, if it even contains any of those elements.

I know I read somewhere that a strategic view was going to be implemented at some point
