Name: Coalition of Sovereign Independent Colonies (C-SIC)
Theme - Sleek and angular, the Confederation's military relies on high technology and expensive equipment, rather than sheer numbers, to get the job done. Since, almost by definition, the Confederation's members tend to be highly independent, risk-taking, and ambitious, Confederation technology is rarely standard from one person to another. Not scavenged or scrap equipment haphazardly thrown together, but rather, custom-ordered and built, with versatility and specialization being a focus of their operation. Due to it being so individualized, Confederation equipment is often concerned with form as much as function, the specific appearance depending on the person using it, their mindset, job, and motivation. Regardless, almost always having just the right tool for the task at hand, quality over quantity, and custom-built equipment that rarely looks the same even within the same squad, are all signature characteristics of the Confederation military.
Fluff - The Confederation is a conglomerate of small mega-corps, primarily those which funded colonization efforts over the last century or so. Created about 30 years ago, it was intended to allow the mega-corps to get away from what they felt were overly-restrictive laws imposed by terrestrial governments. Their 'revolution' succeeded, after a six year war with three of the countries that had refused to let them go(many of the rest simply didn't have the wealth, manpower, and/or need to keep them from becoming independent). They have since become an economic powerhouse, by virtue of monopolizing many regions of space and interstellar travel. Though one of the smallest 'countries', the Confederation is one of the most advanced, due to the large numbers of scientists and access to phenomenon unknown on Earth. They have recently become skilled in nano-technology, and are selling such technology(with measures to prevent reverse engineering, of course) to terrestrial governments.
-Squadrons contain Commissars. (who don't execute in the field)

Name - Unity Mining, Inc.
Specialty - Vehicle designs are modified mining vehicles. They are slow and heavily armored, with moderate firepower and a bulky aesthetic.
Our infantry are conscript-quality, and tend to be heavy on cheap anti-vehicle weapons and man-portable light artillery.
Fluff - Unity Mining, Inc. was founded 82 years ago, and has since become one of the largest mining corporations, through both luck and unscrupulous leadership. Roy Howell ascended to the role of CEO five years ago, and has been restructuring the company, with the aim of expansion through force of arms in less stable areas. He intends to then leverage this wealth and power for monopolistic Lunar mining rights

Fight!
Elephant - 7, 12 SECOND
Felix - 4, 10 FOURTH
Techno - 1 SIX
Nirur - 12 FIRST
Cheese - 4, 8 FIFTH
Rolep - 7, 4 THIRD
Nirur takes the initiative, and starts moments before everyone else.
Nirur fires two snapshots against
Cheese!
(D12(3) - 1 (snapshot) -1 (distance) = 1. D12(12) -1 (snapshot) -1 (distance) = 10)The first shot misses horribly, and somehow ricochets against a box and heads towards
Nirur!
(D12(4) - 1(Distance) = 3)He barely dodges the bullet, and fires another one. The second bullet hits
Cheese's leg, which causes him to collapse and drop his pistol.
Nirur Proceeds to roll into cover, keeping his head down while reloading his pistol (Due to the pistol 'design', he will reload one shot per turn)
About a second after
Nirur started his blitzkrieg,
Elephant goes into action. He starts by diving towards the nearest black box, and aims his weapon at
Felix, and fires!
(D12(3) = 3)Elephant misses! He puts his head back under and thinks of his next move.
Rolep, in the midst of the chaos, makes his move. He sprints over to the center and gracefully bounds over the cover, landing lightly on his feet, spinning around to
Felix, and firing his weapon. However,
Felix, having already started moving, was getting behind his cover.
(D12(7) - 1 (Moving Penalty) = 6) Rolep grazes
Felix's leg, putting him in a spin to the side of the cover, midair.
Rolep cools off his pistol, and bunkers down to be prepared.
Felix, recovering from landing on the side of his ribcage, rolls over to a better side of the cover, and weakly lifts up his pistol, firing.
(D12(9) - 1(Weakened) - 1(Half Cover) = 7)The shot almost grazed
Elephant's head, but he dodged, causing the shot to hit the wall.
Cheese, lying on the ground, decides to make the best of his situation.
Cheese flip himself over, and grabs his pistol from the ground nearby. He aims at
Techno, and fires.
(D12(12) - 1(Weakened) - 1(Mobility Penalty) - 1(Distance) = 9)The shot enters through
Techno's jaw as he slides towards his cover. The ground is sprayed with simulated blood.
Techno can't even reach to pick up his pistol as blood pours from his mouth, making varying sounds. He simply holds his jaw, hoping the simulated pain will be over soon.
Now, if you want this skirmish to continue, just continue to post your actions. If you want it to end, just say so and I'll remove your character from the skirmish. If the majority wants to stop, I'll just go to the real campaign.
I have a nagging feeling this is too much of a RTD
