Yep.  Hinging happens before firing so you get a wider fire arc in essence.  You can also rotate deflector shields at the last second before incoming fire with a hinge.

I'm trying to design a vessel made for all-range mode, and be able to shift into straight-line movement.  I realize this is almost entirely futile, as the best way to get fast rotation is to put forward and reverse engines on the ends of long poles.  At that point, you already HAVE engines facing forward, so having decent rotation is the same as having decent speed.

I'm also looking over ideas to make truly armored gun irises, with armor plating and all.  100% coverage attempts are questionable at best.

My plan for all-range mode was to have it be the difference between +4 forward accel, and +2/+2 strafe to either side.
Switch from dragster to omnidirectional movement.

Having a cap of armor fold over the weapon would work.
Alternatively, you could have the gun on some sort of scissor mechanism so you can have it pop out from the armor and then back in.

It seems I don't have a button for that yet.
You can add a parameter of "-stats"  or "-morestats" when you launch the gui however.

Anyone have a quick guide of how to set up a game? I'm quite confused.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jwzRvWurVBRL8Eik9ZlgQfp1rz1gmnuSb9C1Vyfp7Cg/edit#heading=h.hg57dbpqqozs

3-Step Summary:
1) Decide what ships/bases you want to start with and design them using the ship designer.  Saves to EMP files.  Players can upload these to PBW for you (the game owner) to download.
2) Use buildInitPLR.exe to load the EMPs, set player names, alliances, positions, and assets.  Saves to a PLR file.
3) Upload the PLR generated above to PBW using the "Upload Admin PLR" button.  If you have the autohost assigned and your game is set to "Auto" or "After Last Player Uploads" turn modes, then the first turn will roll and the game will be on.

Scout, I suggest you change "Thancs for Friends" to use THANCS v3 instead of v0; v3 is the current version, and v0 has a lot of problems.  Assuming you're the one who made the game.

Yeah, v0 was for an early prototype of the game, and the autohost won't process those.
Changing it to v3 is required.

I've accepted the autohost invite and fixed the mod setting.  Should be good now.

I PM'd USEC about the game, and he never responded; he has been active on the forum otherwise, so I think we can take that as leave to kick him from the game and replace him.

Huh. I could have sworn that I asked for a replacement... *shrug* Sorry about that.

Yeah.  I suppose this is why its a bad idea to get everybody you can easily find involved in a single game :)

I think you south-westerners have got a pretty good lead.  Not insurmountable, but pretty solid nonetheless.

The 1v1v1 and 1v1 games are open:

Welp, sorry to resurrect this, but something's up.

Anyone notice that the website that hosted the downloads for THANCS is down? Real shame, that, because I was planning on reinstalling it after my PC got wiped and i had to re-install windows.
