Right now its random which hull3 it will choose to start the ship with (so if you keep trying it will eventually stick).  I'm going to have to change it to try all starting points and see which one works best.

If it chooses the docked ship as the Hull3 to start on, will that cause my fabber ship to like, split into debris or anything?  After all, it's not connected by anything except a spacedock...

No, the base will be disconnected, and break off into a new ship, just like if you were launching a fighter.

The problem before was that the base ended up disconnected but did not fragment.  Later the physics looked through all the connected components and saw no CnC so it disowned the ship.

So how do I effectively use a spacedock to dock a ship using H3?

Right now your odds are equal to the number of hull3s on each side.
I'm currently modifying the fragmentation code to try all combinations until it finds one that holds everything, or runs out of options and just picks whatever holds the most on.

Done.
All of the top core components are checked and the best option is taken among them.

Note: Currently hull struts are 0.5 less corey than hull segments of the same class.  I'll be making them equal coriness in the next mod update.

I can't decide whether to be repulsed by the complexity (and the fact that I'm late to the party :( ) or to be enthused by the fact that OH MY GOD THIS GAME IS MY SOUL MATE.

Well, let's say you're going away from Earth on huge spaceship and suddenly shit goes wrong and you have Super Mutants. Social Experiments prepared them for this.

The game's pretty great.  When SJ remembers that he's playing and will actually submit his turn!

The manual s about as obtuse as it gets, however. HOW IN HIGH HECK DO YOU SAVE A SHIP. NOT THAT ANY OF MY DESIGNS ARE ANY GOOD.  :P

Whoops!
Turn up.

Save a design with shift-S.
F2 or Shift-R will enter rename mode so you can change name under which you want to save the ship.
Shift-L will load the design from disk.

More specifically, press F1 on any screen.

Hey, SJ, how come that floating computer that GIH has by her base is owned by her? It has no power, and it's *disabled*... surely that means no CNC points?

It was listed as enabled, briefly, to me.

That would be a quirk in the order of events.  It was enabled after construction, so the ship had CnC and did not get disowned immediately.  Later on, the ship was out of power so the CPU got disabled via brownout.

Crowe has provided a unique graphic for the large engine.
SVN Update your graphics (and mods) folders.

The new graphics will be entering in-progress games shortly.
