I would prefer a 2v2v2 to a 3v3, but either would be fine.

So, SJ+USEC / Draxis+Crowe / GIH+Ed  perhaps?

That sounds decent to me.

On the FFA match approaching turn 80 - are we fairly sure I've won?  The only damage I took was from hubris, as I shut down shields to conserve energy and failed to remember what was going on.  It seems I have issues raising shields...  And the damage I've sustained is to the rear, relatively unimportant damage considering my turn rate and likelihood to be hit in the rear again.  Meanwhile 1 enemy has conceded and the remaining foes have lost more than half their firepower and begun taking more direct damage.  The rest of the game is primarily deciding how the Fennec will win, rather than determining the victor.

I agree; I was hoping to bring it up just before the update, but I am currently blowing up Invincible and resigning next turn.

I was prepared to fight it out, but if you're offering a peaceful way out, sure, why not :)

Though I wonder who would get the kill points for Draxis' ship once it leaves the universe... :P

As for the team game, the teams seem fair, but I'd prefer a 3v3. Fabthree dragged on forever in part because whoever took the lead got ganged up on by the other two players, preventing anyone from actually *winning*. With only two teams, there will eventually be a winner and a loser :)

Not keen on the idea of the 2v2v2 team game to be honest.

Id prefer a balanced game also.

I'd expect a 3-way game to be more "balanced" than just two teams, since there is a political counterbalance to the otherwise exponential runaway numerical advantage of the first place team.

A two sided game would finish a lot faster tho.

If something is balanced, it doesn't fall.  The game win when one side tips over.  The more balanced a fight is, the longer it'll take.  A 3v3 game will let the winning team win, while a 2v2v2 will let the winning team get ganged up on by the other two.

Yeah, that was pretty much my thoughts.

2-team game will, if not end, at least be decided before we get very far.

A 3-team game should last longer and give more time to build interesting things.  It should also discourage jumping straight to a huge ship since you'll need to have multiple ships in order to attack and defend on both fronts.

Oh, another problem with 2v2v2 - there are only 3 colors for enemies, but each player will have 4 enemies...

Really? I thought we had 1 self, 3 ally, and 3 enemy...

Oh, nice. Though the magenta is really hard to tell apart from the pink and the red... :( Fortunately I can at least tell the pink from the red, even if the magenta is hard to distinguish from either of them!

So, when are we getting this game started?
