I'll just give fair warning.  Next game, I'm going to totally ruin the playing field.

EDIT: ON THAT NOTE this game is kinda slow and large.  Anyone for a new, lower player game?

I would play one.  What sort of match were you thinking of?

$60,000 limit no rules 1v1, 1v1v1, or 2v2.

I have http://pbw.spaceempires.net/games/thancstrek2 waiting for Ethermeister to join and design some 2nd generation ships.

If anybody else wants to try a battle against a Federation warship, I'd be happy to open another game too.
My uprated design to fix the flaws found in the previous game comes to $160k, and has a small fabber that probably won't get used in the fight.
Challengers are free to deploy a fleet of ships rather than a monolithic ship.

At some point I'd like to try a B5 game with a couple warships and a fleet of fighters.
Rules would be 1) no shields and 2) ~$30k worth of fighters and ~$60k in 2 warships (price may vary depending on how expensive armored ships with docking bays will get)
I'm not sure how to define fighters though.  "Fits-in-a-drydock" allows for gunships like Inferno.  "No Class 2 or 3 hull" is probably better, though it does still allow huge monster "fighters".
They ought to also be internally dockable to the warships, if not necessarily all at once.

Dear Draxis,

I regret your premature detonation of your warhead, I'm certain it happens to many commanders.  It is truly unfortunate that you have disarmed both of your only remaining weapons aimed at myself.  It is also extremely unfortunate that my warhead has survived perfectly fine.  My only regret is my lack of a salvaging device!  I shall send my regards to your next of kin.

Sincerely,
~The Death That Comes On Swift Wings

Girlinhat: Thanks to the power of love meat shields, your missile wasn't quite enough.   Shooer had to finish the job with the medium lasers :)

I am bogged down IRL with work, so I have to bow out for a while, it's why I've been scarce.

I'll drop out of the Sierra game so you guys can start another one without me. I'll be back soonish. Like, a few days at most.

Commentary is this post, for the curious.

I'm really interested in participating but feel like I wouldn't have enough time for a lot of turns and like I'd just get killed outright super easily. How many turns do y'all do a day?

Also, most of the pics have stopped working :( Use imgur, perhaps?

Which pictures?  The ones on the OP and the commentary are working.

We play 1-4 turns per day; generally 1 or 2, higher numbers are unusual.

Huh, you're right, they're working now. Was probably a minor glitch.

Also, 1/2 a day seems doable. I might join in the next game! Let me know when/what :)

The images on this thread seem to be quite unreliable. Though usually if they don't work "Open Image in new tab" will access them.

Getting an error when trying to dock related to dock view in perlgui in line 429.

Kind of making it hard to dock, as in impossible.

Part of that is Azrayel, who is always the last player to take a turn, even though he could take 2 turns in rapid order, as the game updates about 2 minutes after his turn and he could take his turn again.

When turns are shotgunning, especially with fewer players, you could get out several more turns very quickly.

What's the error specifically (copy-paste the text preferably)?
429 is probably the bit setting the background color of the view based on who owns the ship trying to do the docking.

If it shutting the GUI down on you, then that's a problem.  If it is just a warning in the console, it is probably just an undefined alliance state and won't affect you.

It spams "Undefined subroutine &dockview::getPlayerColor called at /lib/std/lib/perlgui/dockview.pm line 429." after clicking any ship from the dock view list it spams that a bunch in the CMD and the dockview is just blank.
