Gnomes are winning? Huh, I expected Elves. Gotta say, though, that I don't think gnomes are the best idea just yet. All the steampunk/machine shenanigans should wait until DFhack can create buildings that require power. Just one man's opinion.

I received a PM about this thread.  I don't have a problem with people asking for money for the work they are doing, but I don't want to become entangled with anybody financially.  So I'd prefer not to receive any money or have Bay 12 be involved with any of the logistics.

Ah good that we heard back from Toady.  I see where he's coming from.  Accepting money could open a whole can of worms with over mod developers.  Glad to hear he's okay with the idea.  That being said I'd completely support donating a bit to support a jump forward in the mod.  Have always loved DF and Masterwork really revived it for me.  Watch plenty of youtube series of peoples let's play of Masterwork.  In fact if this works out and there's a week or so to donate it might be beneficial to PM the main dwarf fortress youtube players.  I'm sure most of us check this site a few times a week but who knows, a shout out and link in one of their videos could bring in more.

Good luck! After reading this thread, I decided to wait for the next update to download masterwork and read up on it so I'm only mostly clueless 

I personally think the gnomes would be !!FUN!!, especially if there is some way to make things have a chance to "malfunction", a.k.a an syndrome or similar with bad consequences.

I did read myself into Kickstarters (since I was looking into other places to do this donations-thing), but it appears that they neither allow to give part of the money to charities, nor is kickstarter available for non-us/uk/aus/nz/can citizens. If you are not from one of these 5 countries, you cant do one, lol.

I spend the last day mostly doing other RL stuff, but if anyone has a good idea for this project here, let me know. At the current rate I'd just make a facebook page with a paypal link, thats seems the easiest and most public.

And changing the topic a bit, since the last poll option is a No as Toady doesn't want to get involved economically, is there an option to change my "money" vote? I mean for me, and the 47 people that voted that option.
I would now go with "Put it all into MDF", and if the Kickstarter becomes an option, not having charities involved makes it easier.
