Ok guys, here is the deal: I just booked a train to Budapest, will start my next tour in 2 weeks from now. It will take between 1 and 2 months. I will try to do another update till then, and set up this sponsoring drive in the meantime. I'll let it run till I'm back, and we'll all see how it went. I probably use paypal, same setup as the donations so far, and will either do a Facebook page, or another free service, since Toady said that I should not do this on bay12. I will however link to it from here, because after all, its for you guys. I will also start the poll anew, it will run from the day the donations start, till I'm back. Toady did say that he would rather not be a benefitiary, so its either only MDF/Me, or Me+some charity. Most people seems to rather like the idea of giving half to Toady, with the followup being to use it all for developement. Well... he doesnt want any, so it might as well come down to: "Do as you seem fit, Meph." If that will be the case, I'll probably keep some of it, donate the rest to somewhere. For sure I'll let you know.

Mh... I thought I fixed that... maybe you clicked on it before I did that. For simplicities sake, check my sig. The link should work, I just moved it there. (Edit: Aha, I now know what you meant. There were two links that linked to a session, which Paypal kills after 30mins.. So I posted the link, it worked, but was invalid 30 mins later. Its fixed for good now, if you click on the link it will generate a new session, just for you. )

Out of curiosity, can one of the options be 'bugfixes and rebalancing'? I've got more content than I can handle with Dwarves, Kobolds, and Orcs right now. Another playable race doesn't have me thinking "oh yes, I want that!", however bugfixes and balancing of existing content sure does. Especially smoothing out all the wrinkles in Orcs, Kobolds, and various tilesets. (Smake hasn't been seen in a while, so I fear that Orcs are getting less attention than this noble race deserves.)

humans look so droll... trade based seems so undwarf-like to me... i meen making a dwarf fort rely strictly on chopping wood to be traded through the current trade system is a challenge but a whole civ based around stuff like that? maybe i'm being biased but...

i think we need a magic based civ to get a little away from the typical build wealth then check out random industries strategy
gnomes would be interesting as small humanoids that rely on creatures especially from machinery to survive but they sound like kobolds but with a different atmosphere

mm i wonder how hard this all would be...

I remember warlocks+gnomes being way ahead when you first started the poll. Humans are like dwarves without the dwarfy stuff. BOOOOORING.
Also I think people are hesitant to donate because they fear, that something really boring will win.
