The Glass Halls - Lack of Interest
« on: October 11, 2013, 03:27:34 pm »

This is an experimental RTD where I intend to have most of the information be hidden to the player at the beginning. We'll see how it goes.

Spoiler: Mechanics (click to show/hide)

To sign up, simply state:

Name (just first is okay)
What you were holding in your hand before the RTD began (a gun, a laser weapon, a wrench, an electronic device, etc)
A positive personality trait (humble, just, brilliant, etc)
A negative personality trait (wrath, greed, or something else)

Everyone will have amnesia, so bios are unnecessary.

The limit is 6 people, but there will be a waitlist. It may or may not be used.

Current players:
Krath
Oglaf
Lenglon
Persus13
Harry Baldman
BFEL (?)
Dewboy

Waitlist:
Tiruin
Xantalos
GreatWyrmGold

((I don't think heating something that is right above us to a ridiculous degree is very smart. Worst case scenario we become +metal statues+. This is a finely crafted metal statue. It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

Turn 0
Tower Alarm: Inactive

It was pitch black. A faint rumble could be heard from beneath the ground, but for the most part the hall was silent, its few living occupants still recovering from the virulent blue gas that killed mostly everyone else.

Neil was the first to awaken. He didn't realize he had come to at first, thinking himself to be dead. But when he moved his body, he felt a sudden pain all over his skin, especially where his suit did not cover his body. When he opened his mouth he felt a bitter, acidic taste on his lips.
He wasn't sure if his vision was still intact as he saw nothing when he tried to open his eyes. But he realized that he was wearing goggles, and so whatever he was tasting couldn't have gotten into his eyes. And so, he concluded, it had to be dark, wherever he was.

Abram found himself somehow standing up. Unlike Neil, his face mask and gloves protected his skin, and so all he was left wondering was what the thing in his hand was, and what had just happened. It felt unbelievably light although it was hard to swing around. He grasped it with both hands and felt around for buttons, accidentally pressing something and causing a dim blue LED to light up on the side.

Maryn woke up on the ground, but her arm was extended upward and her fingers were wrapped around something fibrous. Her skin felt like it had been scraped repeatedly with coarse sandpaper.
She sat up, her feet somehow clinging to the floor. She ran into something gelatinous overhead, which got in her mouth and on her goggles, although she didn't see it yet as everything was dark.
The stuff that got into her mouth tasted familiar somehow. She remembered what it was.

Blood.

Tiberias awoke sitting against a wall, his head hunched over and hands clasped over his face. Spots on his face burned in pain, and his throat was filled with some slimy, acidic substance which also burned his throat. He got an urge to cough it out, but there was a blue light bobbing up and down in the distance. He didn't know what it was, so he stayed quiet.

Guy woke up clutching a rectangular object in his hands. The edges dug into his fingers, which were stinging in pain, but he remembered that the object in his hands had some sort of importance, he just didn't know what. He saw a moving light in the distance, illuminating the floor slightly, but his vision was too poor to identify it completely.

Toom was the only one who remembered what he was doing before this happened, although he also witnessed his memories fade away one by one. He was cleaning his goggles, when something happened. He heard a loud noise and before he could react, something had gotten into his eyes and everyone started screaming. He felt some kind of gas burning away his skin, so he dived onto the ground to protect what was left of his face. Now, the lights had gone out and everything was silent, but he was sure he was still alive and wondered where all of his squadmates had gone...

Neil didn't dare try to move much, for several reasons. Instead, he sat up slowly and felt around until he located the datapad, and tried to turn it on.

Turn off the light, so as to not attract potential crazies. Listen for other noises.
