"Do any of you have magical knowledge that may potentially be able to fix the people some day? Or are you just playing at being a witch? And the town? I'm guessing Stachura has been thoroughly looted by now, right?"

Pause for a second. "This is all alot to take in. I'm going to need some time to process..."

Remember the book in your inventory. "I had this when I came around the other day. Are any of the goblins here good with locks?"
+1 to asking about magic and the book, -1 to asking about loot status of the town, could ask how they got where they are now.

"I can cast a few spells. But you know how it is, you never have everything you want. No Glamer for disguise or Buoyancy for levitation, for example, but I have Pyrotechnics for the smoke and lightning, and it can make booming noises too. But I try not to use it too much, because it needs beads of sulfur and bat guano."

(Pyrotechnics is Journeyman-level.)

"I also have Whispered Message, which lets my whispers be heard in the ears of one person at a time within range. When it's windy and raining it might not work, but on a calm clear day it can travel farther than a bowshot. The nice benefit is its material component is cobweb and a hollow reed, which are easy to get."

(Whispered Message is Apprentice-level).

Not really. The goblins have kind of taken over. But everything is stone. You can't take most of it and if you did, what would you do with it?

Pearl's eyes light up. "That, I can help you with." She clambers over the back of her couch and returns with a little backpack. She pulls out a leather tool case and unrolls it, revealing pieces of bent wire, miniature spatulas, hooks, pliers - and all kinds of nameless little tools.

As she works with her head down, she asks, "And by the way, would somebody please get him some pants?"

Claire and Charlotte blush like a sunburn, leap up in unison, and start looking around for some actual clothes for you.

Pearl says while she's working, "Any other questions? I'd imagine an amnesiac has a lot to ask."

"There's so much I don't know, I hardly know what to ask about.  Are there lots of races of people besides humans and goblins?  The goblins talked about enemies, what's going on with that conflict?  What year is it now?  What's happened since the Fair?  Anything you think I should know I'd like to hear, from your plans and goals to whatever problems you expect, even to how I might be able to help you if you need help - I know so little I don't even know what I should be asking."

Put on new pants when new pants arrive. Request a quiet place to read alone when Pearl gets the book open.

Could ask about Nah's lot, small, gray, big ears, if they don't metion anything like that. Also about what Vert and co said about the town being dead.
Edit: Maybe whatever Vert and co meant by a secret operation?

Oh come on we had something going for us with the dwarven dungeon master look. Cloaks only!

Politely decline the new pair of pants.

Edit: also politely request more cloaks.

Stachura
Its most likely just a coincidence, as they having nothing in common but a name, but:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Stachura?

MUCH more importantly

+1, I somehow didn't notice the lack of trousers. Would most appreciate it Jeff were to shield his lower body from the cold. Also, If we weren't wearing trousers, what about pants (I'd assume he's fine, but I clearly haven't been very attentive to our protagonists clothing problems)? I sincerely hope Jeffery hasn't been freezing his giblets off this whole time, the poor guys been thorough enough already.

If we get the chance Ask about life here, about the goblins, general things like that

I am willing to bet that after the "fair" most humans were enslaved/murdered and/or scattered to the winds.

Me too, but we still need recent history/current news whatever she's willing and able to give.  the more information we get/the more we know, the more easily we'll have a chance of catching anything odd too.

Let us take up the quest of dealing with the wizard. First we shall earn the gratitude of these fair maidens, and then we shall in due time address the issue of their maidenhood.

Let us take up the quest of dealing with the wizard. First we shall earn the gratitude of these fair maidens, and then we shall in due time address the issue of their maidenhood.
It's a wizard, til we gain some sort of training or at least information on weakness, I don't think we would stand a chance, the dude can steal voices, and these three command goblins, if they didn't send a hoard of goblins to take him then I don't think we at our current stage could achieve the feat. (Also let them keep their maidenhood, our heart belongs to another, one who may have saved our life).
So if the locked book turns out to contain all powerful spells that zap there way into the readers mind then sure lets do that minus the addressing maidenhood.

Edit: On that note make sure we are the first to read/open the book, then we can decide if they can look, unlikely as that is to happen and ungrateful as that may sound.

Remember, We are a 17  year old male. We are immensely hormonal and we have just been given a chance of a lifetime. Regardless of our status with our former lover, we should look into putting the moves on the trio of maidens. to put it simply, 1 hot blooded male + 3 maidens + lack of competition for said maidens = HAREM ENDING

I'm not interested in ENDINGs of any sort yet.  Intermissions I'll politely ignore.

I'm also not against more humans becoming a part of the world, and we might be the best option these three females have to reproduce.

If so - let them decide that.  Give them time to decide that.  I feel no doubt that if our services are desired, this will be sought.  Such might happen entirely behind the scenes, which is totally fine with me, personally.

Yea, guess our character might want them at some point, the human race is screwed even if we bred, so no pressure should be given, they could just get a goblin drunk/out of it if they wanted a roll in the hay.
We haven't been given this chance quite yet, plus we also just got told that our race was mostly turned to stone and might still be being hunted down, limiting our exploring and becoming a bard/mage/conman dreams, kinda a mood kill imo.
