I never played online, does it have a tiles version? Also, how many games over how many days would I be expected to play? I'd like to give it a go, but RL is kinda hectic these days so I'd average like 1h/day. As for my skill level, I got a rune 2-3 times, but that was many versions ago.

If you're European you want to get crawl.lantea.net (aka. CLAN).
There's no pressure in playing here, play as much or little as you like. You will probably be placed in the Nobles team (only 6 people per team, so B12 is divided into multiples). You need to add a small line of text into your options file but that will wait until we can figure out who captains Nobles.

Do note that the tournament starts at 20:00 UTC (British time) tonight. Any games started before that don't count towards the tournament.

You click on the version you want (0.13 beta for the tournament, I think ?), and it loads. Depending on your connection, it may take from seconds to minutes.

As for points in the tournament, I think I'll try to get gods points with Okawaru, Ashenzari, Vehument, TSO, Makleb, Trog, and maybe zin.
I'll try to get most of the "easy" runes, too, but they are less garanted. I may even try to get a win with a Merfolf Gladiator (Trident + shield + ice/charms are fun).
And I should run some Gargoyle Fighter/Glad, to kill the most uniques possibles

[EDIT]Oh, by the way, the "4 runes before D14" seems fun, even if very dependable on the resists you find (so an okawaru run for great armors may help), but really doable, with "easy" combos (thinking Gargoyle/Hill Orc/Minotaur fighters)... right ?

By the way, do the clan's page display the special scores and those type of things ?

That should do it. I think you were already showing up on Miners team so if all you did was change my name there should be no issue.

I guess a lot of people will be playing gargoyles since they're the new big thing. I still haven't won with the previous new big thing yet (octopodes) so maybe I'll try a few of them this time.

Edit:

Four runes before D:14 actually seems really hard. You would need to get both the Slimy and Abyssal runes to make this possible, and for anyone other than an Abyssal Knight you are not even guaranteed a way to get into the Abyss. (Though I suppose you could stand in front of deep elf sorcerers and hope they banish you rather than hellfire you...)

The new book of battle is so much fun. Infusion+shroud+song of slaying is like a Leeroy Jenkins combo early on. Just jump into a crowd and start hitting things.

I haven't registered to CAO, but I can connect there and spectate on-going games. So it's definitely not everyone on CAO.

EDIT:
Seems CAO has some issues with 0.13. All 0.13 players are idling and I can't spectate them.

   Bay12 Champions is all ready, Miners just needs Zomon still, and Blacksmiths needs Tegga21 and FluidDynamite. If your a captain check your options and make sure you spelled their name right and if your a player make sure you spelled your captains name right. Overall this have been quite good for the start. When I last played it took a lot longer to get all the teams mostly sorted out. Also I have updated the OP to have a each team name link to their page so if your interested its there.

   If you want you can be the captain and then even if you don't get more team mates at least you will be in even if it is all by yourself. Though I do believe we will get more people.
