From what I know of this setting Zebras have only Alchemy and don't directly use magic.

But it's only fluff so it doesn't really make all that much difference, like me describing Sam as freakishly strong even for his own kind. Doesn't actually make him that way it's just a description.

Alright, let me put it this way.

Using Zecora as an example of zebra-kind might be extremely accurate. Or, just as likely, it may be like using Fluttershy as an example of a typical Pegasus, or Pinkie Pie to represent all Earth Ponies.

Not all Zebras do magic, after all. It explains her knowledge of magical illnesses and ailments, too.

Well I just wanna hurry up the selection anyway, it doesn't look like anyone but the NPC will be doing the betting so no need to wait. Nobody seems to have anything they're willing to wager.

Since my only option would be servitude and that would go horribly wrong I can't really bet anything. Can you imagine the outcome if somebody tried to give an emotionally unstable hulk an order he doesn't like? He'd go on a rampage through half the team.

Just PM Silcugar and ask him what he's referring to.

I PM him all the time about Basayen's stuff, though I suppose that's mostly because I'd rather have you guys find out about him and his background over the course of play then learn everything up front. More fun that way(to me, at least).

Meh all I need to know is if he gave me any items, I'm not worried about you lot know about that. I have a couple of secrets as well based around specific events in his past that will cause specific reactions if something reminds him of them.

Also just so your all aware. I've attached a 1d10 roll to my character so whenever he gets wounded in a fight I roll to see how he responds 2-10 he continues as normal 1 he goes berserk and I'll roll again to see who he targets so he might attack an enemy or one of you depending on the roll. Minotaurs aren't really well known for being rational in combat so it's a fun way to build it into my character.

If he attacks Basayen and Basayen defends himself and you die because I roll a crit or something, I'm not gonna apologize. :p

Basayen might, though.

I would advise against risking that for a couple reasons.

One, I can't guarantee your safety if you engage in unwarranted PvP. If your character is mortally wounded, don't expect me to save you.

Two, the net gain of characterization isn't worth the potential aggravation you'll cause by attacking fellow players.

I suggest keeping the 'berserk' mode in check, and only do it when 1)the others care about you enough to not kill you when you do it and 2)it's dramatically appropriate and justified.

EDIT: Oh, and Bucket, I'm going to assume you're going to alter your post in relation to Geek's edits. As in, I'm assuming you'll cut out the bit describing the amulet's powers.

Kind of ruins the point if I wait until it has no risks. No turn from me this time.

I have nothing to do until the selections are made.

.... well that was a boring conclusion to an entire month of waiting.

I'm out before I even get in so I still can't do anything.

Now, now, Patrick. Do you really think I'm that big of an asshole? You're still in, of course. You just have to keep playing your role, and the pieces will fall into place. Sorry if it seemed like I was tossing you out... Well, it does appear that way, but I wouldn't be so cruel as to lead you on like that.

My role is kinda dead. Given his personality and the fact that he's just found out he wasn't selected he only has  2 reactions. Leave or Attack.

If he attacks either he dies or the game dies so leaving is the only option that works so leaves me nothing to do for the next who knows how many turns until the duel ends unless scales comes after me but he can't really leave mid session so it'd require a minion to come after me before I'm gone.

No offense, but that's a fairly shallow personality. You said he was child-like. His kind might often be used as war-beasts, but perhaps that's why they become violent. Maybe being alone means he's child-like, and while still perhaps naturally quick to anger, that doesn't mean his reactions are limited to 'fight or flight'. He could sulk. He could whine. He could throw a hissy-fit. He could go 'home' and eat a lot of comfort food. He could plan revenge, if in a childish way. Many things he could do, that I can think of. Now, maybe there's something you've already set your mind on/about, that prevents him from doing ese things. But just like Basayen, just like Aurora(if not already, eventually, no matter how adamant LordBucket is, or she won't be able to keep going. Just saying), Sam too, will have his character/personality compromised for the sake of playing the game.

Basayen was originally going to be a manipulative asshole through and through. I didn't think that would go over too well once we started playing though, so I tweaked it a bit.

It's not the whole personality just the only relevant bit to this situation.

If he whines or sulks or throws a fit somebody is going to get hurt. Any action he takes boils down to a fight or him leaving in the end.

The key phrase there is 'in the end'. Doesn't mean there isn't opportunity for role-playing, but so far you've just had him leave, in such a way that makes it look like he didn't care at all for whether or not he got picked. Really, besides his speech to the council, he's been completely silent and un-interactive, which makes him seem like a statue programmed to whine when necessary, rather than a child-like brutish minotaur that it would be best not to upset.

None of this is meant to be mean or rude to your or your character. It's just how it's coming across, to me.

Plus, saying that his options boil down to leave or fight is like saying a battle boils down to whether you win or lose, or that a given temperature is just/either warm or cold. It's an accurate statement, but it's also untrue, because of how vague it is. Which sounds ridiculous, but think about it.
