Last time I played legends of dota, I went with a centaur warrunner with return,  kraken shell, mana shield, morph strength, borrowed time and reincarnation.

Obnoxious as hell, heh.

It lets you pick 5 skills? Never played this mod before, though I need to try it sometime. I don't have many friends that play DotA 2 at all, so if I do play it's to screw around in Ability Draft.

6 skills. The host can pick the setup, 4-6 skills, and they can choose how many normal/ultimates you get. 4/2 is most common (4 normal, 2 ultimate).

Because new axe has been incredibly op.   Pretty good balance patch, but I was really hoping we'd get another overall balance tuning before the the next international.  Dota desperately needs MS tuning and support rebalancing.

And axe isn't, or wasn't, new op. I've been playing him the same for a year now, jsut dac he really showed the public how 'rape-y' he can be

This nerf isn't particularly large either, just some minor changes when I think are for the better. Axe is still Axe-y. The Jugg one is a teeny tiny bit more severe but it's not too punishing. The mana cost increase really hurts though, to those idiots who play him 1,0,1,1.

He's not 'OP', he's just better than everything that can go into that role most of the time.

Ed: and he's one of the few heroes that can deal lots of damage himself that still has reliable, simple jungling.

Edit: Every once in awhile Dota matchmaking decides to be dumb and puts my team and me in high skill matchmaking. I can only feel sorry for our opponents because this is what happens:

I haven't played much recently, but knowing the game in the past, it's more a matter of someone played x character in y tournament/high level play/spectated match, now lots of people are hopping on z bandwagon so some minor nerfs are handed out to compensate. Then everything will go back to normal complacent meta for a bit before someone finds a new highly publicized toy to play with, rinse repeat.

It happens often enough that one could set a clock to it, honestly, both in DotA and in League.

Yeah, Axe is the most used hero of the current patch.

FotM plays an important role in meta and what gets played, but don't dismiss power creep.  This is astonishing, but axe hasn't received real nerfs in a patch since 6.60.

That's because Axe was only ever picked as a joke until recently, or about once in a blue moon seriously.

Also if you're comparing power creep then Axe doesn't hold a candle to Lina. I think it's like 7 years of buffs.

As a career broodmother, all I can say is that the day Axe is removed from the game for being too red is the day I finally stop picking 30 seconds after the countdown.

I see what you were trying to do there, but I believe you misunderstood the second post by Rez, where he augments "not OP" with a description of how Axe is better than any other hero at his role. Possibly a valid point, but since I take particular care not to think like an Axe player (eeeviiiiilllll) I can't validate his thoughts.
