The free mana cost damage boost is pretty neat on him.

I kinda like the new pl, he's much harder to kite early on now cause of the rush ability, and the new escape ability is ok, altough you have to remember to take control of them when they spawn to make them move and confuse people, and harder to counter then the old doppelwalk. The new way illusions spawn make pl less of a "farm forever and become a monster" and more of a "you can actualy reasonably fight people before farming tons of items but you dont become that much of a terrifying monster either. I dont think radiance is a decent item on him anymore, or even heart, its prob just better to go with the ol' mana drain and a butterfly now.

I have uyet to see the new bloodseeker, gotta try huskar next.

I just played an 85 minute long game.  Towards the end we got desperate and bought like 5 divine rapiers.

That XP graph really shows off the new comeback mechanics.
I really, really hope those mechanics get toned down a bit. I've been playing dota for a long time, and the matches I've played on this patch just... don't really feel like dota. Sure, I like winning. But I also like the challenge of coming back from a difficult start and scraping out a win that seems impossible. There really isn't a feeling of being behind anymore, because a single teamfight where you kill two or three enemy heroes, even if your entire team gets wiped, will net your team several thousand gold. It's ridiculous. You can just forgo strategy and run at the enemy team for free comebacks. You don't have to dodge fights, try to outmaneuver the enemy... it's not fun to me. It's like if in smash bros you constantly healed if you were above 80% damage. It's like playing through an entire soccer game, the score being 10-1, and the ref deciding that the next goal wins the game.

The worst part is that there really isn't a place for the heroes I most like to play, early game oriented supports or gankers. If you go and give your team an early lead, that's great... except that if anything goes wrong you're going to put the other team right back on equal footing with you. And if their team scales better (which they probably do if you picked a hero like Spirit Breaker or Crystal Maiden) you are pretty screwed. This is why Medusa suddenly has a 55.16% winrate. Spectre has a 62.80% winrate. That's ridiculous!

No, having 10% more block on her mana shield is why medusa is winning more.

ed: and spectre's bonus pure damage goes through spell immunity.

Yeaaaa I do feel that the game is leaning more towards heroes that scale better into endgame, and this patch has certainly made powerful early/midgame heroes less relevant. Undying and Axe will be suffering from this specialy now that there are bounty runes (that show up more then any other rune, or so it seems) and that hero passives are nigh untouchable since it takes a doom with scepter to shut them off (chronosphere and duel dont shut off passives anymore), meaning people like PA and specter are specialy powerful in this patch.

Well, this handy dandy picture of a bunch of graphs might convince you.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Hard carries: up and up! Spectre got a 10% winrate boost because her desolate... ignores the bkbs that got nerfed. Alright.

Early/Mid/Snowball heroes: way down.  Venomancer and Vengeful Spirit go up because they are agility heroes that scale very well into the lategame. Outworld Devourer goes up because he's actually a hard carry and I'm not sure why this table necessarily lists him as a snowball hero. Lion goes up because he's one of the best-scaling-with-farm supports out there, and is one of the few heroes that can reliably lock down hard carries even in the late game thanks to Hex being the one way to stop passives without an Aghanim's Scepter doom. (Who is hemorrhaging winrate partially due to his nerfs and partially due to the fact that his whole 'I innately give my team a gold advantage as an aspect of my hero' schtick is now absolutely worthless.)

They show up opposite the regular runes.  There are exactly the same number of bounty runes as normal ones, unless there's a bug.

Yeah, I just don't feel comfortable with the bounty runes.  There's little to no reason to not go and check the opposite rune your opponent does when you're in mid now.  Not only does it give gold and exp, it gives a full bottle refill.  That's actually worse than what HoN did in that matter.  At least the rune of refreshment in HoN is just a slight bottle refill, it doesn't actually make it profitable to leave the lane.

IceFrog, what are ya doin' mate?

Rune rng was dumb anyway, lucky rune pick ups (especially in a row) were devastating in certain (most) match ups. Thanks to these changes mid lane became less stressful + rotating to sidelanes for kills can be actually profitable and viable now.

Winrates mean nothing, especially a couple of days after patch. BS is downright broken now, yet 3 games in a row i'v got a bunch of dumbasses playing him and according to dotabuff he went from 54% winrate to 46%. I also saw a pl getting radiance and bkb, in 6.82. So... yeah.

He's made winning mid with a bottler not based entirely on luck.

also handy for hard supports who help with rune control.

What was probably meant there was that they show up more often than any other kind of rune, which is true.

Can two bounty runes spawn at once or not? I read the whole 'one of them is guaranteed to be a bounty rune' as this.

Also, I think you guys saying 'getting the rune used to be 100% luck' is kinda ignoring the whole rune warding and counter warding thing supports were supposed to do.
