I do like most of the heroes, but Alchemist is a hero that I don't think I'll ever enjoy playing. I didn't play him back when he was really good, and now he's just kind of outclassed by heroes I actually like. I'm comfortable enough with the hero roster that I'll play anything when I random (if it fits the team) but I'd consider repicking Alchemist anyway.

Io is far and away my favorite hero when I get a chance to play it. At least one person on the team has to have a hero that goes well with Io, and they have to have voice chat. Relocate ganking is fantastic, managing Overchannel and trying not to die in fights is exciting, but I have died far too many times to my tether buddy randomly breaking the tether, or using his BKB before I can tether, or not preparing for the relocate, or... But when it works, it's great fun!

Watching etgfrog play Nature's Prophet. He's got a good bit down better then me, but here's a tip everyone can benefit from. Spam dat ult and use Midas on the small jungle, so you get higher gold from the entire camp.

Well, when you mostly want gold, using your midas on the lower-level creeps is definitely optimal. But if you're under level 16, you usually get Midas for the extra experience gain, too. If you use it on a higher level creep like a centaur conqueror or the bigger wildkin, you'll get much more experience. Most of a level, if you're under level 10. Midas multiplies the XP you get from a creep by 2.5, so the bigger the better for that. (Whereas even the smallest creep gets you that +190 gold.)

Also, remember that your ultimate will get you more money when the creep waves have met and started hurting each other. If you're using it to farm, save it for when you can see at least two lanes of creeps meeting up.

Yeah, part of the benefit of midas is that using it on the big centaur is almost always a level-up.

About a year ago everyone would go on and on about how Midas was a shit item due to it taking something like 15 minutes to just pay itself off. I thought everyone was retarded as they seem to have completely forgotten the most important part of it, the exp gain. I actually made a few Reddit posts about it back in the day.

Now everyone actually uses it properly.

I like getting a midas on heroes with slow attack speeds as well. Whenever I play Tiny I like to rush midas then power treads then a manta style. That attack speed bonus makes you almost unstoppable especially when you get a scepter as well.

I do like Midas on Tiny, but I would personally go for the Aghanim's Scepter before the Manta Style. I like being able to destroy buildings in a couple swipes, and the extra damage on his nukes is nice early on. Hand of Midas is also really good for a lot of intelligence carries (like NP I guess) since they usually need levels for their abilities and the attack speed helps with their usually-bad agility gain. Midas, treads, and maelstrom/mjolnir is enough attack speed for most strength or int heroes, really. One of my teams' pocket strats is a farming Jakiro to deal with high-armor drafts by opponents. If they pick Dragon Knight, Sven, Dazzle, or whatnot, Jakiro does not give a damn. The build is midas -> treads -> maelstrom -> veil of discord -> mjolnir -> hex/aghs/whatever. With the magic damage amplification from veil of discord, Jakiro's four(!) high magic damage abilities and his mjolnir procs will melt any hero that isn't packing a hood or an absurd amount of raw HP. The veil and Jakiro's high strength gain make him pretty hard to focus down, so the mjolnir active is sure to go off at least a few times.

Meepo is so fun with boots of travel.

Also, I love how the syllabear in that game was the only person on Dire who even seemed to bother to attack towers.

...Techies may have been released during the All-Star match.

Just FYI.

so...its going to be shadow blade or blink dagger on techies? regardless, I think there is going to be a resurgence of antimage players, find the techies low on mana, one shot them with mana break.

I don't see the option to play them, so I doubt it.

That's the thing about techies. The player enjoys playing, but the other 9 players in the game hate it. Techies are scumbags, and all techies players are scumbags.

As we can see from 100% of all pro games played with Techies, the correct build for him is to max suicide... ignore the stun... and get midas.
