Legion Commander is the most broken, bullshit hero in dota. Complete lane winner from level 1, unlimited pickoff and carry potential, fountain-dive rampages. She will get nerfed into fucking oblivion soon.
Against most people in lane you just need to right click, and unless they chainstun you under their tower, you will get a kill, and BOY does she snowball HARD.

Thankfully aside from duel you are not forced to attack her... Your creeps will.
It's Axe deluxe. Axe 9000% lifesteal instagib with bonus attack speed. Axe that forever forces you away from lane, because death.

The only thing that works against her is, that should duel go south, the enemy gets buffed.
Hence the early pick-offs on paper no-rightlick heroes, who will not matter with +10 damage.

Get halberds, get ghost scepters, stack stun heroes and be ready to 20 man TP to stop LC is my advice.

Well, AFAIK tresdin was here for a long time (since 6.73) and was buffed/nerfed a bit already. S/he was never a too strong pick. I don't think her laning presence is too good either - many heroes can and will win against her (Silencer, Batskater, Dazzle, any nuker like Zeus and many more). She is something like bloodcyka, melee and no stun means no real threat till 6 (also more healing - healing is awesome!). But if she's snowballing, then pretty unstoppable.

Don't know why would she be so unbalanced. Duel is inferior version of Lasso. Maybe she will get picked as 3/4 in some gimmicky pro lineups.
Also disarming doesn't work in Duel now, ghost scepter also doesn't (because of DOOOOM, but if someone else has EB then it does).

Legion Commander is like Pudge.  If she racks up the bonus from Duel then you wonder how she could ever be beaten.  If her team loses, she looks like the weakest hero in the game as it happens.

Legion Commander is only amazing if she wins duels. It's a little like playing against a Bounty Hunter. If you feed him and his team a few track kills, he'll start steamrolling, you'll give up more track kills, he'll steamroll harder, and before long he's running around with Deso + MKB, one-shotting your supports. If you don't give him the opportunity to start rolling, he's worthless.

Same with LC. If she doesn't win duels early, she's left with a situational nuke, a variant of Aphotic Shield, a passive that will never trigger before she explodes, and a melee-range Fiend's Grip that's slightly harder to cancel, but feeds the enemy carry 10 damage every time she uses it. Shut her down early, and she's worthless.

Now, Earth Spirit on the other hand... even with the nerfs, he's got an 1100 range AoE stun, at least a 3.5 second AoE silence, incredible mobility on a 4-second cooldown, a spammable skill that knocks people out of position even through BKB, and an obnoxious AoE DoT (which, hilariously, is the weakest part of his kit - not because Magnetize is weak, but because everything else is insanely powerful).

This is more or less true, although Legion Commander can still be pretty robust even if she doesn't get a lot of victories. Unlike Pudge, who is either dominationg or useless, Legion Commander is either merely mediocre or, more likely, a nigh-insurmountable engine of conquest and destruction.

Just be really, really careful who you duel with (unless you're already balling out of control). Even one or two victories to their team can make a difference, especially if it's their main carry. Having an Ursa mauling you is bad enough without having 30-40 bonus damage stacked on top.

Played a game with my friend where the 4 of us got roflstomped into oblivion for the first 15 minutes. Only the offlane Broodmother was doing well, and she was our random.

The enemy used their amazing 10k+ gold lead to chase Broodmother around for 20 minutes while the rest of us casually farmed away. By the time they realized how much time they wasted chasing and failing to kill Broodmother, who was still at 0 deaths even after all that time and managed to farm up Orchid + MKB while being chased by 5 heroes nonstop, even I as KotL managed to get Necro 3. Our Zeus who was level 5 when everyone else was level 8 was level 16 by the time they finished being retarded.

It was probably the most stupid comeback I've ever experienced.

They basically lost 1v5 to Broodmother.

Ok. What item is one you use most? For me, I'd say Eul's. It's arguably my fave item, I build it almost every game, it's too good for me. Move speed, hold people (or you, did you know pudge's rot works while he's in the air?) and the mana is heaven~

Tangos. I have a few (very, very few) starts where I don't get branches and I'm sure other people do too, and it's a sad truth that a lot of people never buy wards. Since that's kinda the smartass answer, for me it would be stout shield.

Well, yes, starting items are the technically correct answer. And that's the best kind of correct!

In the 'items costing more than ~200 gold' category, I'd say Drums. Cost-effective stats, and move + attack speed in an aura. Just remember to use the charges! That extra +10% speed is awesome for chasing and escaping alike.

She has quite a few counters, but the biggest counter to her is to 5 man and ward properly after she gets shadowblade / blink

She's super annoying when played defensively though, that second skill that gives her target regen and removes debuffs ? so broken. Same reason why i hate playing against abaddon

I'm mostly interested in seeing what happens when she enters CM. Debuff removal and heals are of course nice, but Abaddon can already do that. Duel has the potential to be amazing for snowballing... or the potential to be a melee-range Fiends Grip that can potentially feed damage to the enemy carry. As a support, she's got no disable (or even slow) until 6, and she's melee range... not a good combo.

Then again, I thought Elder Titan was going to be a rarely-used offlaner, desperately using Ancestral Spirit to grab CS at max range. Instead, he turns out to be the most ridiculously OP hero in the pool, with Natural Order turning out to be insanely awesome. And I thought Earth Spirit would be fairly useful, not the overpowered monstrosity all the pros are scared of right now. My pro-level predictions are perhaps a wee bit weaker than Goblak's.

Actually, assuming LC isn't incredibly far behind, Duel tends to be one of the best ways in the game to take out a carry. Duel is basically a doom + taunt, which means anybody who you would normally be scared off because of nasty passives or items is 10/14/18 free damage. It's really damn satisfying trying to gapclose to Sniper and getting headshot every. fucking. shot. (40% my ass) and then getting in range to ult and then he can't do anything while you make his health go poof.
