Been trying this out a bit, pretty enjoyable so far. Can't comment on gameplay to much yet, but the community seems pretty nice thus far. Way better then my experience in that other popular moba.

I'll see if I can apply for the steam group if I figure out how. Not that experienced using steam. And if I'm welcome, of course.

If you want to feel like a god, go mid vs medium bots, rush phase, go into a bfury or two, grab a daedalus. Finish off with more bfuries. Fuck hp, fuck attack speed, go all damage, all cleave, rampage via a w+click.

Also fun with Enigma. Also fun with Naga Siren, since you can pop down a remnant at the start of the song, TP home, regenerate fully, and leap back to it just as the song ends. You get the damage, you basically get cheese, and now you can spam more.

As for item choices, I really like Radiance if I can get it fast, but battlefury is where it's at. Lifesteal is alright to throw on, but usually isn't worth it over another battlefury. If you go for crits, you can rampage so incredibly easily. This guy might be better than Earthshaker at countering PL.

Ooh, I'd forgotten about lifesteal - free full heals every 6 seconds! I'm kind of liking Maelstrom for the awesome lightning procs, though the extra attack speed and defensive buff of Mjollnir don't really help so there's no point in upgrading it further.

I'm also seeing a lot of Rapiers in this guy's future. Sleight of Fist lets him attack from a very safe distance, and his ult gives him almost the same survivability as Replicate if you set up a remnant before engaging.

Ember Spirit is the hardest counter to TA that there is. Forget Veno, Viper or Batrider. ES completely demolishes TA, and you can even dodge meld strikes with his "W". I went 6-0 against a TA that was even aiming the psi blades right every time.

Agh so many heroes so many choices. It's fair to say I've played roughly half of them by randoming it up, and that's probably a generous estimate. Can't quite decide wich one to practice and improve with. Harder still when nearly every match is incredibly lopsided so I can't tell if I did better with one in particular or matchmaker granted a sure victory/defeat. In fact the matchmaker doesn't seem to stellar so far, almost always one or two of skilled players preying on clueless newbs.

But back on topic. I don't know are there any heroes that are plain bad? There's lots of them so I'm sure there'll be a few that just flat out suck and I'd want to steer clear of. Likewise heroes that are simply overpowered aren't interesting either, I prefer a fair competition above all. Not a huge fan of nuking either. Of the ones I played here's some I enjoyed: centaur warrunner, bristleback, slardar, naga siren, rubick. Still got quite a few to try out of course.

Also on the topic of balance, is it just me or are shadow shaman and witch doctor immensly overpowered? As in will disable and destroy your entire team before you can blink. Just lost a 5v3 where the two of them just wrecked all five of us soon as we so much as came in range. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the damage the two of them together were dishing out, they could probably have won it 2v5.

But on more serious note, play whatever hero that strikes your fancy. There really aren't any bad heroes per se.
Personally I like playing support, with whatever hero I get. It's a good mindset to buy chikkin/wards if no one buys them in team, regardless of your role. It's only 150g!
