I think icefrog just doesn't want towers to exist around clinkz. Strafe + Searing + Desolator + Assault Ciurass.

Thats... A whole ton of changes that will shift the game around. I apreciate the undying and warlock changes (altough I dont like the changes to fatal bonds so much, even with the increased percentage), but doom's doom just became a fair bit less useful, and I dont think that was needed at all. Doom is growing more and more dependent on scepter to do his thing. I guess thats ok, but that will delay important like assault cuirass. At least vanguard into crimson guard might give him a decent defensive item option early game now.

Necro's ult is far more devastating earlier in the game now. If necro gets a scepter, people can expect +70 second death times around the 20 minute mark.

Also, is it me or is huskar a fair bit stronger now? :v

While I always liked the fact that Doom could counter anyone with his ultimate, it was definitely high time he got nerfed. There were periods in the last few months where he was literally at 100% pick or ban in pro games. I'm glad they kept his passive-stopping ability with the scepter though. It was an item that was sometimes picked up before, but now it's definitely core in some games. I think he'll still be fairly common against heroes like PA and Huskar (if Huskar enters the meta!) because it's the only way to shut down their passives without Duel and Chronosphere doing it.

Also, is it me or is huskar a fair bit stronger now? :v
Yep! If his opponents don't have enough damage to burst him down, he is going to go nuts on them at the ten minute mark.

You're not real likely to see scepter on necro at that point in the game, though.  He really needs to tank up and get some reliable mana sources before he's dependable in a fight.  It might be a useful thing for pushing, but it's more likely to be the staff of buyback.

The changes to glyph, armor, and tower bounty mean a T1>T2 push is harder and a little less rewarding.  On the other hand, lots of Dire's rosh advantage WRT to towers has shifted from the generally well-defended mid to the poorly defended offlane, so I think Radiant might have more success with early pushing.

Crimson guard costs 3850.  I'm not gonna call that an early game item.  A quickly acquired one will have lulzy influence on early team fights and pushing, of course.  Bear in mind that people who want that kind of damage block and tank usually want to buy a blink and upgraded boots.  I'm thinking of initiating slardar (3rd position) most of all.  A fast blink is tremendously strong and, going back to rune/tower/exp changes, probably is going to be more useful than magic vulnerable push.

That change to clinkz is probably good, tbh.  You could see him do something like treads/orchid/cryst/satanic/bkb and be able to fight other carries.  The best orbs for clinkz are pretty expensive and he'll probably be replacing a crystalys with the deso, so I'm not actually expecting to get killed by him any more than usual when I'm playing a warding hard support.

Maybe, we'll see a pro bust out a huskar pick as a surprise last pick and we'll see huskar roll a game or two.   The problem is huskar will still depend a lot on snowballing and pros are good at dog-piling good players on their good heroes.

Finished my placement matches, ended up at around 2.5k MMR, not sure what that means but eh, a fairly high number.

I think it's because I mostly played the carryhard bastards and got some nice teams too. Incidentally out of the three matches I lost (or was it two, not sure) two were the draft games :S

2.5k is smack dab in the middle of the average range AFAIK. I'm a few hundred below that.

Yeah, I think they allow 32-bit now. May even not require DX11.

That 's a pretty solid starting mmr. I started at 2700 (currently 2900), but I only started playing ranked when I was around level 50 or so. I've stopped playing ranked because I find it a lot less fun than normal match making. The stress of knowing "this is going to have a visible effect on my mmr, don't screw up" (as useless as that number truly is) sucked the majority of the fun out for me.

Anyone of the equivalent to the royal bloodline in a nomadic group would have a sun tattooed on their hand, or a scrotum on their forehead (it's a little-known fact that fraternities are based off of long-forgotten tribes).

A lot of people feel that way, it's called ladder anxiety and has existed across various games.

I dont suffer from anxiety, but it seems everyone else in my teams does? Idk, I lost half or more of my ranked matches now and 4 of them have been because someone raged really hard for no reason and actively worked against the team, or someone on a hard carry gave up after losing one teamfight, despite us being in the lead overall. One of those losses was my fault tho :P
I just got the impression that ranked seems to have far more emotionally unstable people then non ranked.

That'd be a hell of a way to celebrate a patch. Nothing but 5v5 Ogre Magi mirror matches allowed to be played for a day or two.

I managed to queue for a game between the patch going live and me knowing that the patch has gone live, so I went for all random and got... Bloodseeker.

Oh, it was fun.

That XP graph really shows off the new comeback mechanics.
