I don't know what's happening, but I do know I found my new favorite hero: Lich. To my complete confusion I've been carrying as him, wiping the enemy team even later into the game, to the point I'm getting carry items once I feel my team no longer needs a support. It's both wonderful and terrifying.

Lich is just like that. I've had a few games against him where he gets a few early kills while laning and my teammates say "at least it's not a carry getting the kills." And then he doesn't stop murdering us. And then we lose.

That frame of mind is just awful in DotA anyway.  The whole "at least it's not a carry getting the kills," mindset anyway.  Kills mean you're out of farming and EXP for that entire duration, you usually have to spend a little money to get back to lane unless you're doing the walk of shame, and in the meantime whoever was in the lane is getting EXP and free farm.  I mean, six or seven creeps usually amounts to the same as a level 1 hero.

Also, Refresher Aghs Lich is probably one of the scariest things I've ever seen.

Pssst, secret trick.

Chain frost will still bounce on a magic immune target.  Aghanims frost never stops bouncing as long as there's someone to bounce to.

Chain frost the enemy ancients and instantly kill anyone who tries to farm them.

that trick is kinda dumb, i mean, like, I guess it makes a sorta good escape? but it's mostly just obnoxious and makes those ancients off-limits to your team

Chain frost's stun is instant and goes through magic immunity. Additionally, it will proc the instant you click on your target, not when the chain frost itself actually hits it.

So if you see an enemy TP'ing away, just ult him. He'll be cancelled immediately.

Following the topic of Warlock mid, he's one of the few people who can reliably beat Viper in lane. The damage over time early game is really strong, even if he picks Corrosive Skin early. The damage from putting it on him can also be healed away with the same move.

The only thing about Lich is that when they buy Pipe and BKBs you are pretty much useless.

One of my friends vehemently disagrees. We haven't run that particular strategy as a stack in a few weeks, but a solo farming lich can go pretty ham with items. He's absurdly fast, chain frost makes people slow (while running away) so you have more time to beat them to death, and chances are you're going to be over-leveled.

Did they like hug each other or something? It pretty easy to make the ult useless once people learn to not group up like morons kinda like vs enigma and magnus just easier.

That's the trick of using Lich - you try to force opponents into lose-lose situations where they die if they don't hug together, and die if they split up.

Elder Titan was pretty freaking angry at the end of it. We only won because their Brewmaster abandoned, and even then we kept throwing fights and giving away rapiers.

How do I get better at killing shit?

My best is 637 in a 75 minute game as Medusa.  At the end they had us raxed and I was just standing by the ancient mowing down wave after wave of creeps.  They were the usual bad pub team and didn't know how to close out a game, so by the time they got around to pushing for the win I was farmed out of my mind with manta, butterfly, bkb, linken, and rapier.  So the final teamfight lasted all of two seconds.
