I've been trying to get better at farming with bot matches but the bots are pissing me off.  On hard difficulty they're pretty much perfect and it's almost impossible to last hit against them, though I guess it makes good practice.  If I can 15-minute battlefury against hard bots I'm gonna stomp the shit out of every pub game I play just by farm advantage.

But it's very frustrating to try to do.  And medium bots are the opposite.  They barely last hit at all and they almost never even try to deny.  Medium bots is basically solo last hitting practice until about 12 minutes in when they lose their fucking minds and start trying everything they can to kill you.

And so far the last hitting practice mode hasn't gone very well either.  I tried to do it with Necrolyte because Necrolyte has a tough attack animation, and it put me up against Lich.  That's just fucking rude.

Yeah, there's a reason why he isn't. 4x nukes, or a ranged agility character with Skadi + Lifesteal x4, it just wasn't any fun as someone who has had to face it.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the Aftershock+Split shot/Mana shield thing was fixed. It may still work with stuff like Voodoo aura which costs mana but the free toggles definitely don't proc it any more.

I've recently started playing Axe a bit more, and have taken a liking to Rex's Eul's build. The mana regeneration and movement speed are great, and you can always catch someone to call when they fall back down.

Anyone want to do some 5v5 lobby matches sometime? Not a competitive sort of thing, just a few fun in-house matches. Assuming we have 10 people interested.

Interesting bug with Ability Draft on Broodmother... Tiny's Grow ultimate causes her character model to completely implode on itself. Originally when taking Grow, I didn't have any legs, but dying caused them to respawn, so I was originally just a little rock... thing.

Probably my favorite thing about dota right now is the cosmetic system.  For one it's community driven so there's a lot more stuff than some other games in the genre nudge nudge.  It's also generally more thematic.  Dota in general seems more thematically and artistically coherent.

In some other games things are all over the place both in style and quality.  Top lane you might have this squaring off against this.

Bot lane you've got a splinter cell looking dude with a bow, teamed up with a beat up steam-powered robot, fighting the TPA mascot (with a snowball throwing kid on his back) and a wisecracking executioner with throwing machetes and a mongolian outfit.

Even with community-driven content and the variety of heroes in dota everything seems to click.  With a few exceptions (like cowboy Ursa which they ended up discontinuing over the complaints) quality and general thematics all click very well.  You're never gonna have your battle to the death with the world in the balance interrupted by a dude in a clown suit.

And most importantly it's all so cheap.  I threw five bucks on my account and I've got so much stuff for so many heroes it's kind of shameful.  I've got a couple full sets for heroes I don't see myself playing, I almost got a broodmother set but I held myself back on that one.

Like, some of the older sets cost like 25 cents or less and even the sicknasty sets like gifts of yoskreth are rarely more than a dollar or so.

Okay, volvo wanking over, and no league-bashing intended, I still like League a lot even if I don't play it much anymore. 

I'd be up for something in-house.  Or even just 5-man stacking pubs and such.  It'd be nice to play with people who speak the same language as me.

I really like the singular items many heroes have. My personal favorite as of now is the catalyst cap for Lina. I got if off the market for under 50 cents, and even inscribed it to track kills. It's nearly hit 200 at time of writing.

Dota 2 content creators in general seem to put a fair bit of effort in not making anything look or feel entirely absurd or out of place. Just look at pretty much every brewmaster item description

Anyway, I'd be up for a bay12 people game, altough my schedule is pretty tight except in weekends (and even then I have classes during the saturday morning).
