Hey, I've been playing Broodmother a bit lately!

...Without any spiderlings. Stats instead. It's worked very well for me so far, since nobody's bothered to get a diffusal blade for my ultimate. Nobody can fight Broodmother 1v1 with the right build, at least not easily. The 60% miss chance from her passive is insane, better than PA's evasion since it stacks with your own evasion fully. (If you go halberd or Butterfly.) So far I've successfully beaten an Ursa, PA, and Razor outright. There's also been an Axe, Earthshaker, and tons of other AOE heroes in each game, and I haven't been countered by any of them.

I doubt you'll see very many people counter you at all in unranked ap.

Considering that that WAS unranked AP and there were multiple counters in every game, and there are multiple (supposed) counters to every Broodmother I ever see picked in every single match, I don't believe you. People counterpick because they want to win.

I usually play unranked because I don't like queuing solo, and party ranked matchmaking is an utter crapshoot on US West. The MMR variance is absurd every game. Plus not all of my friends are even level 13. Unranked isn't a mode where people don't try hard, or a mode where people are bad. It's a mode that isn't ranked.

You understand that the aoe is a counter to spiderlings, right?  If you aren't using them at all, ES and axe aren't any better against you than anyone else.

Eh dunno, Broodmomma without her children is like a weak single target carry. Instead make a million broodlings, get a Lycan in your team and melt towers.

Yeah, playing brood without her 'lings basically makes her a really bad Riki. That said, there's a lot of strength in just tossing out 2 or 3 sets of lings in a lane, then wandering off and letting them push to tower and forcing your enemies to go solo kill the brood without a champion there for easy 4v5s.

Yeeeea, while not terribly hard to counter, brood's Q is a strong early game ability that works both as a nuke and a pretty good slow, which ALSO creates hordes of spiderlings, which give you amazing pushing and even killing power (a big enough horde of spiderlings can revenge kill heroes that happen to kill you or even solo squishy supports if you're far enough ahead). Not using them kinda does turn you into a bad version of riki with an in-build satanic effect for an ult. Its not terrible, but there's usualy heroes that do better then her at that role and scale better then her overall. I dont deny the value of incapacitating bite, but her Q gives her so much early game killing power that ignoring it can cripple you against anyone who's smart enough to not try and solo an ulting broodmother with right click items.

Play versus bots some, play the tutorials. This IS coming form someone who joined before the tutorials, but still, they're good enough i went back to play them (also might still give free items)
Bots are always smarter then humans. Bots are always dumber then humans. Both are true at different times, still, for practice, it's good, especially learning new heroes.

My reason : Set up first blood, put down loads of wards at 20 minutes we have a huge advantage.

Me : Push now!
Carry : Let me farm

50 minutes in, I'm useless and we lose.

This has been improving recently as my MMR is (probably) rising slightly (I'm guessing about 3.2k?) , but it's still an issue sometimes.

Using Chen's creeps to diffuse mines was very annoying for Techies.

Never take aura at level 1, you should hit level 2 long before your allies run out of mana, even if they're spamming their 20 mana daggers on cooldown.

i found two scenarios where level 1 aura is nice. Playing with a techies or.. there was another one but i forgot. Anyway, and that's only if the guy playing techies is within punching distance irl liek me and my brother usually are.
We usually play stupid combos to liven things up after a few games, just making sure it's not team ruining if we fuck up and have to switch to normal-er play.

Doing anything other than jungling is suffering on cm.  Didn't frostbite get buffed?  I know IF nerfed her INTELLIGENCE a few patches ago, because her damage was ballin' out of control and too good for jungling.  I seem to recall being surprised that spell was getting buffed, since that's what jungle CM is about.
