Personally I prefer the system where you can at least claim some stuff. Otherwise, there's nothing whatsoever you can do to protect your creations except make them hidden, because eventually, someone will just swing by when you're online and smash everything- and no retribution will stop them, because they just spend another 30 minutes to make a diamond pick and they haven't built anything you could destroy.

I think the problem is that even those interested probably don't have a lot to say until we start. So why not start now, on the anarchy server I found? Problem is, it's not that busy. But it'll still be fun. IP is mc-l.net, for those interested.

Try the server out, see if you like it. If people enjoy the server, we can schedule a main playing time.

Edit: I'm around -111000 -111000, which is nowhere near as far out as it sounds.

Pardon the double post, but I have something new to say.

So, how far out do we want to go? A secret underground base is difficult to detect (unless people are dirty cheaters and use x-ray textures) but also a pain to keep secret. On the other hand, if we go too far out, we may be unable to find other bases to pillage. So, thoughts on how far out we should settle?

Not helping.

FAKE EDIT: I think I might know what the problem is. I'm running the snapshots; normally it gives a specific "outdated version" error. Maybe w41 just fucked that up and says "no connection" for all connection issues. I'll downgrade to stable and see if it still borks up.
