Try spawning in the same quadrant (+,+), it is a good boon already. I had to walk some 12k +- to get to the base, took some 40 mins. Get an auto-keypresser or sit your cat on the keyboard or something

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.

If you spawn near a Big city You're pretty set because of the rail lines, BTWthere a a rail line from Carbon to [Places] Which I'll take on my way home.
As far as the asthetic farms go I've kinda already been doing that when i removed those old farms, and I think I'll strip one layer or clay from the melon farms, 24 hours is just as good as 16 for melons.

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

Forgot to post this last night, but I built a Stone Smelter.  Ran it long enough to get a double chest of stone and some change.

I'm on the rails home now, I have enough charcoal on me to start up a charcoal smelter if we don't have one yet. Also 3 stacks of Clay for my Melon farm, enough melons to fully plant the damn thing, 2 stacks of rails for whatever, and some dark oak saplings because dark oak is awesome.

In the Machine Room we have a Wood Cauldron, a Charcoal Burner, and Stone Smelter.  I guess Iron Pickaxe Smithy is next?  Not sure if we've recovered any of the old factories.

Where is the machine room? I was going to put the charcoal Burner into the room with heaps of furnaces near the farms. I guess I'll just put it into storage.
Can I move into one of those CJ/mj home rooms?
Also I love what's been done with dale, the theatre is great and all the new passages and tunnels around the place are looking good.
I'm thinking of planting some dark oak around, ATM I think it will grow in any biome not just Roofed forest, I planted some acacia in my ocean biome house back in carbon and they sprouted.

To get to the Machine Room, as you come into the great hall from Dale, go down the left stairs and it's the last room on the left.

Found the machine room, the walls looked a bit bare so I shoved a few more furnaces onto it, and put my extra coal there in case anyone needs to burn lots of whatever.
Did some exploring of old dumathoin, found some chests of cobble overlooking a chasm and our mycelium block mushroom farm, It needs an afk machine.
EDIT:
Wandering around I'm finding a lot of random chests containing stuff, I've started moving everything that's not locked up or inside someones bedroom into storage, the smaller storeroom seemed to be mostly cobble so I've relabeled that one "Cobble storage" and the bigger one "general storage" Also we should put our ore, iron and valuable tools behind a locked door, I would suggest for now inside the vault room or maybe in the room before it.

Erm, A random Gold armoured zombie blindsided me in the hallway outside the storerooms, I tried to get him but lag did me in, I lost a minecart and a stone pick, so if anyone was wondering why there is a 128 block long rail line leading towards the Mithril forge, It's because I was clearing out the stone there.
I forgot to sleep back in Dumathoin so I'm back in Titan again :P
CUrrent Cobble status: , about 10 double chests full in both storerooms, and theres at least one more in the forge area.

MarcAFK, I picked up your stuff and put some of it in storage.

I'm also wondering what's old and what's reclaimed, there's an area by some stairs just below main storage with a bunch of locked chests and some stores. Does that belong to anyone?
E: I also see diamond and gold ore excavated in mines, are we just waiting to silktouch/fortune those or did whoever mined it not have an iron pick?

The factorys give much more bars than you normally would get out of an ore block, IIRC it's 4 times as many diamonds, 50% more iron, and 3 times the gold.
EDIT: Thx for grabbing my stuff.
Getting late, I guess I'm done for the day, I had meant to fix up the melon farm and the trees nearby which didn't look right so, but I'll do it tomorrow.

Me and Southquab are going off to set up a mining outpost to avoid digging in already searched areas.

The mines still seem ripe for exploration, earlier I was clearing out parts of an unexplored mineshaft. There's still some left.

Well, we ended up not finding a suitable spot because we accidentally walked in a giant circle and arrived back at Dumathoin, and then he had to get off.
I didn't realize how close we were to other constructions.

Do we currently have any enchanted pickaxes for mining sitting around? I found more diamonds, this time in a large unexplored cavern. I found a ton of naturally generated mineshafts as well as one area where it seemed like someone had dug a loooooong 1x2, unlit passage which connected to a few caverns, none of which were lit or stripped of materials.

Anyway, if we don't have any fortune/silktouch/whatever we need most for mining, can I make some EXP bottles with some of our wheat reserve and try to make a good diamond pickaxe?
