I was rather proud of building that room to exploit the waterfall, though Splint was the one who sorted out a proper drainage system for it.
All that was really needed were 4 grates in front of where it would flow.  Splint added a couple of extra though just in case of overflow, and it works wonderfully, I must admit.  I think I need to make the pier slightly closer to the waterfall, but otherwise it's good.

Also, we have like 34 idlers.

I didn't use grates when I first had it, just a hole into open space which wound up with our female cat stranded in the river at the bottom for quite a while. She even had her first kittens down there.

Journal of Karkov:

I get woken up today when someone ran up to me and threw me out of my comfy bed yelling that:

One of these days I'll move somewhere sane.

SOMEWHERE SANE.

Why these people migrate HERE of all places is beyond me.  Ten more people decided to come live in crazy town.

You're always welcome to move in with the furies, I'm sure they're lonely after wiping out most of our race.

Yeah but there's probably tons of screaming and bloodshed with them, not sure if my guy could take it.  Mainly he just wants to be left alone with his boulders and one person parties.

Dwarf please?

Sure I'll dwarf you.  Kinda in a rut on Starbound right now anyway.  I'll start updating momentarily.  Got a choice of dwarf you want?
Hmm...how about a hunter?

Don't think we have one.  I should have one, these winged things are becoming a nuisance anyway.  Sure!

I sense that the buzzards have struck again.

Nah, there's like 50,000 storks and ravens though.  Update momentarily, not about the flying things.

Journal of Karkov:

I've decided that at the new year, I'm going to throw leadership at some gullible sap and leave off with some boulders and some sanity.  That being said, it's already the winter, and while I feel it's been an interesting year, I need to do something that imprints my name on this place forever.  Like a chisel to the stone.  So I've gone ahead and added a floor to the tavern, then designated it as a daycare for our little 'uns.

                           There is a roof.

I've also decided to add a little extra to the entire village, I can see it being a magnificent fortress of stone.  Of course that'd take a couple of years, so I've namely been adding a second story to one side of the walls right now.

But of course before I can get started even setting the foundation, this happens.

That seems to imply they'll be beaten.
Know how I said you killed 3? There was a lot more then 7 Jotun, and that wasn't even a full squad dead. You literally have to have an army against them, not like 7/8 people

Yay schools!

If we're not all dead, sure.

Also the guy with the mood is gonna die because he wants yarn or some such crap.  Also, someone's probably going to want to take brewing off of everybody, because I'm enabling it on them.

And these jerks keep using the barrels for foodstuffs instead of drinks.  Damnation.

Well, we have an unusually short freeze.  But that doesn't stop idiots from standing on ice when it unfreezes.  So the drinking problem should be fixed and we can get done with the rest of the half of this season.  Got a Humie you want Hissin?  And a particular name?  Or just HissinWalnuts and the nearest soapmaker?
