With only two married couples that's easier said than done.
Dost thou doubt the powers of the great "mingling" sessions!? Do it; they're effective and work for faster population. I'm still bummed out about your dwarf in Bloody Age being forever alone...

Anyway, don't say it gets boring; we have over 21 population, and that means we're prone to !!FUN!!- wait, Jotun are dead in this world...

No, Bridgestreams only has 19 people at present with two sort of in the oven so to speak. I think.

At this point I'd settle for hordes of beakwolves and stranglers just for something different.

The two of you keep mentioning dwarves and elves and jotun and goblins... Things that never existed in this world. Clearly you are witches and must be burned at the stake before you summon other-worldy creatures made of beard and booze.

I eventually got us up to 3 married couples, Proto and Tikes ( can I get re-humanized as ... (I forgot the name) Tunemanstrid), Splint and Grim and Highmax and the Chief Physician.

We still need more couples. Everyone who's got a lover should be married.

Find the number of males and females and have the lower number married.

ONLY THEN will there be enough babies being born

26th Granite, 195

We've been scrambling to get a depot built and ready in light of this sudden arrival. The wagons rolled on thier merry way, but some stayed, apparently hell bent of seeing what we had. We all expected maybe some scavangers or something might stumble upon us, but what we were all genuinely shocked by was a treasurer.

A fucking treasurer.

28th Granite, 195

Fuck Tikes. He decided now would be a good time to take time off, so I dragged Hathur over by his hirt and told him to get to fucking work and that he's accountant again.

-

Hathur did well enough, We had some slightly worn (more dirty than damaged) clothing and the silver morningstars, as well as some of what the kobolds left and netted us a brass ingot, two spare barrels, some wine, a few wheels of cheese, a bin of cheap leather, and every pickled pond turtle and bit of salted meat they had, along with a doe rabbit and a hen. Hathur must've worked them over pretty good to have managed the deal he got for all that, and our extra crafts we made that we thought useless may well buy a set of iron greaves and maybe a bow or two, if they have any. Grim's talking with the "Treasurer" now. Turns out that fellow is head of what "may or may not be a mishmash of bandits and scavengers."

Says that there may be more folk out there, subjugated and mixed into other races' dominions, or in this case, small bands of scavengers and bandits, but they may be out there, and if word spreads, then we may be able to get our people to come out of the woodwork and to us.

Sorry for the abysmally tiny update, but I wanted to include something with the finished humanizations, which are now all up to date. Blackflyme, you got your wish of being a soldier. If you count "Highmax's punching bag" as soldier that is.

You got carpenter. Fairly important position actually.

Proto got planter, making him one of 2 people responsible for keeping us fed and during winter, hydrated.

And Firecrazy is our general craftsman. I need to have him get to work on those hives and jugs.

Please humanize me as one of the next born, male or female - lets see if they make it to adulthood. (Where they'll choose to be the profession they hung out most around as kids - hunter/trapper if they were outside for most of it.)

My initial plan for the younglings was to burrow them into the tavern to keep them away from snatchers, thieves and buzzards, but we have a secure enough base I doubt such precautions are necessary. Though we do still need a gatehouse.

I'd like to build a nice one from something that isn't shitstone.
