I think the game should allow for more complicated random events to make the gameplay somewhat more varied.
For exemple, a person getting beaten up by the cops could trigger a
riot: Rioters (persons bearing Knives, Crowbars and, rarely, guns), National Guards and (C+) Death Squads appearing in the streets or in the public places, and can also enter your Safehouse triggering a Rioters Siege (if they win, every resident is killed) ; except at L-L+ Privacy, National Guards and Police Officers can raid your safehouse.
For example: the squad hears/reads news about a liberal demonstration coming in two weeks. The squad has to influence the public opinion on the issues enough within these two weeks, so that enough people attend the demonstration, thus raising these (and other) issues even further, as well as their media importance and the public opinion on the LCS. (Or, otherwise, to disinterest the public in a conservative rally so that only a handful of people attend.)
It could be intersting to have another non-violent means to influence issues by organisating demonstrations at several locations:
Courthouse: rally against death penalty, bad prison conditions and for appointing liberal judges.
*Prison: rally against bad prison conditions, death penalty.
*Police station: rally against police brutality
*Cho Genetics/Cosmetics: rally against animal cruelty
CIA HQ: rally for privacy
Factory: rally for workers'rights
** Sweatshop: rally for mighant rights
**Radio/Cable: rally against bias
Nuclear power plant: obvious
and more...
Organisating demonstrations could net charges of "hurtful speech" at C+ Free Speech, and shall always net charges of "riot" if violence happens whatever the state of Free Speech.
*Could net you charges of
"criminal anarchy" when Free Speech at C+
**Could net you charges of
"criminal syndicalism" when Labor/Free Speech at C+
