Legends mode question
« on: October 03, 2013, 05:18:18 pm »

I noticed that you cannot view Legends mode after you've started either a fortress or an adventurer. Is there a way to check up on the history of world that you've already started playing in or am I just missing something? Just making a world to look at history seems...silly, at least in my opinion. I want to view the history and play it.

Copy your save file and abandon your fortress in the copy. After you abandon, you can view legends mode.
Then you can delete the copy and go back to playing.

Ah, good idea. I'm assuming I could do the same thing with an adventurer, just kill him in the duplicate?

No need to create a duplicate save for adventure games.

Remember that you can retire adventurers in towns that are friendly towards you, check legends mode, then un-retire them by starting a new adventure mode game in the same world. Your retired adventurer will have their name added to the bottom of the list when you are choosing a race/civilization.

But if you are way out in the sticks, then a duplicate save may be easier than navigating back to town.

as an added possible bonus, curses seem to become uncursed when you retire and then unretire
