First fortress, enabled all 3 playable races. ran obsidian soul tileset . truetype off by default . rendermax on

2 words. beautiful and smooth.

problems. laptop is overheating tremendously. rendermax really goes to town on my gps.

research is impossible due to Truetype being disabled , Everything in the workshop is cut off at the most important part. example

Conduct Research in the *cutoff here*

so no more rendermax for me sadly. although the multiplayer aspect looks .. very.. very !!fun!! for df hack.

This is the mos important thing than force me to shut off rendermax, and you canīt resize the zoom without get a crash (an issue of rendermax).

did you ever try hitting the tab key to widen the area for the commands?  I can see almost all of the text to make my research choices with the screen split as wide as it can for the command area and with Truetype off. What I can see is enough to get things started. Example: "Conduct research in the field of Warpstone Mutat".

I normally play with Truetype off, because I want to be able to see which jobs are repeating and/or suspended.

Give a dwarf a Fishpond, couple of buckets, build a Fishery, and enable Fishfarming labor; you feed him for a lifetime. (And get someone to clean and prep the fish)

Finally got internet and (some) time back, and have a question: Was the grazing toggle button removed?

Hello there!  I think this might be my first post, I'm not sure, but I wanted to thank Meph for this as well.  Ever since I found MDF, I don't even touch Vanilla anymore, the FPS boost alone makes it all worth while.  Add in the new buildings and such and the world is a happy place!  Great work on this mod!   :)

Now as for my question, I have a fort that I'm doing fairly well in but on an older version of MDF.  If I overwrite my current installation of MDF, will this break my game and require me to start new or will it continue on it's merry way?

Turning off grazing never actually worked.

Yes, it will break the game. For the majority of releases, a version change (even just a letter) breaks all prior saves such that to keep playing said save, you need to keep it's original version. In general, it's better to install a new version in it's own file than to take an existing version and simply overwrite.

It did except for three creatures all in the same file.

Someone, get the bug zapper! What do you mean that won't work on a bug the size of a house which glows? No, I don't want to hear it. Just get the damn zapper.

You mentioned somewhere that you were planning on a V.4b; any idea when that may be?  In a few weeks, few months, never?

Is it just me, or did you remove the option for dwarven castes in this UI?

You seem to be under the impression that we're playing some game other than dwarf fortress. It doesn't matter how powerful you make a creature, we will find a way to destroy it. God is dead, and Urist killed him.
