Behold Alutar, The Windy Land, a savage, barren, frozen rock of a world where the story of dwarven civilization has been short and very, very bloody. Still, the dwarves persist, as they always do. In a frozen wasteland, warmth is life, and the land's several volcanoes make tempting prospects for new outposts. But why pick just one?
For this twist on succession games, each player will start on one of the available volcano sites (site 6 being unembarkable). The embark size may be between 4x4 and 5x5, but must contain the volcano. Players will run their fortress for one year, then pass the file on to the next player and get their new fortress from the player before them, which they will then run for a year, and so on. If a fortress is destroyed under your leadership, you are out of the game.
Last player with a fortress wins.Rules:
1. Players will have two weeks to complete their one-year turns, each round starting and ending at 6:00 pm EST every other Saturday.
2. No intentional sabotage. Don't purposefully leave the fortress in an untenable state just before the end of your turn.
3. No breaching the HFS before year 50 (20 years after embark).
4. As there are only 7 volcano sites, there is a player limit of 7. Any players after 7 that still wish to play may join a waiting list of alternates.
5. If you will be unable to complete your turn, you forfeit the game, and your place will be given to the next alternate in the queue.
6. Finally, while not required, a historical accounting of your turn would be appreciated and add depth to the game.
