Not entirely true. You do have NK scientists etc going abroad for conferences, and business travellers going to NK. Until recently, almost all French cartoons were partially made in NK.

BTW and for the record: resistances are also a problem with viruses. To cite a few examples, there are strains of HSV and CMV resistant to acyclovir.

Also: HIV patients have to take a cocktail of drugs to prevent the rise of HIV strains resistant to antirretrovirals. This is why I am concerned about people afflicted with HIV that take their medication in an irregular manner: it's not just that they're harming themselves; they're also more infectious, and are likely carrying particularily nasty strains of HIV.

Oh, they do participate. You don't see that many of them abroad, because they're poor and their science sucks but they exist. My dad met a couple of NK scientists at an agro-forestry conference last year, apparently they travel with some secret service guy.

It is a really bad time for someone to get pregnant in this continent, and it isn't going to get much better for some time (vaccines take time to be made).

Could you clarify? Are you asking for how long people will delay the plans of people who want kids?

First Zika case in Europe, or, at least, the first infection of a pregnant woman, registered in Spain.

Also it may indeed be possible that it can be transmitted through sex.

Couldn't find anything about this in english, so you may want to run it through a translator, but It may also be possible that the virus can be transmitted through urine and saliva. It has been detected in both fluids, and tests do indicate that infection through them can happen.

Slightly related (also in portuguese), A man was found in Colombia infected simultaneously with Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya.
