"Dwarven Politics and YOU", AKA: "It's always Bowb Yer Buddy day in a dwarf fortress."

Killing other dwarves is easy - it's keeping em alive and basically in harmony that's challenging.

I think there that there should be a group of levers somewhere in the fortress connected to any random floodgate in the fortress. Each floodgate can have one of four things behind it, and is located in any residential area:
1) Water
2) Magma
3) Angry creatures (hostiles)
4) Air (aka nothing)

If we want to settle the score with someone then we can just pull a lever and hope we picked the right one. owo

I could buy a dragon from the trappers and unleash hell on the inn/B&B if they cheat me

What're the chances of our world having more then one dragon, and if so, more then 1 coming at us? They're gonna path to the trappers first, I'm almost certain, and then get caught easily.  I'm gonna buy that dragon and keep him safely tucked away with some regular training sessions from mr trapper/tamer. No bones for you unfortunatley :(

He would cease to be lethal to dwarves once trained, unless we sold him to you semi-wild.  :D
Also, it'd be hard to buy him, seeing as we'd just take anything of value at dragon-point.

So basically those of us who make nothing useful are safe?

So long as you don't live in the same building as the guy who gets Dragon-whacked.

Wow I forgot about this for two days and waht do you know, two pages.

Are there any migrants yet? (aka ME)

I would also like to add to my plans a little.
Keep the 3x3 shack made of rocks or whatever with the carpentry shop on the roof.
I still call that one free axe.
The new stuff: I'd like to place cage traps staggerd out in a circle around my shack.
If I need a workshop for any of this just build it on the lawn somewhere.
I want a 6x6 basement one z under my shack whenever I can get a pick through trade or anything else.

I've been nearly the first to die on most of these forum games so in event of attack make my dorf run to whatever cover is closest reguardless of who owns it. :D

Will talk to sword dorf whenever I get immigrated.

Baffler didn't sign up to fight no damn dragon. Baffler can handle any dwarf who stumbles in sober, or feels belligerent about their bill, but a megabeast was never on the table.

He won't quit over this, because he's pretty sure you're not serious.

On another topic, I have given up on expanding Baffler's role for now. Any special jobs are still on the table.

No baffler don't worry you'll be riding the dragon that we probably won't ever see but I'll just offer more for the dragon and if anyone else gets it I'll go all god father up in here I'll kill you I'll kill your mother I'll kill your father I'll kill your whole family

I doubt the owner of the hypothetical dragon would feel threatened, owning a dragon and all.

The most rational/dwarven solution would be to flood the owners room with magma. Upon draining the room you would be left with nothing but the magma proof dragon and an assortment of metal globs.

Istrath would be pleased.

Although Etur may disapprove of it's affect on business. A burning Inn discourages patrons.
