Begin thinking of ideas on how to genetically modify creatures to be able to stand space.

"Hmmm, perhaps a hard shell."

You think and think, but eventually, you realize that such phrasing is common to Doctor Seuss' parables.
But yeah, you figure something out that you can implement when Bob comes through with his funding.

I sit down, thinking. How could a race of biological slaves work? Altered mind states, maybe?" I thoroughly reluctantly guess. I go to research it.

You come to the conclusion, that given the Larmarckian persistence of mental attributes over multiple generations, all you have to do is enslave the race to start.

Make pheromones and spray yourself with them, after you make the slave races instinctively heed the orders of those with the pheromones.

Use lasers and ability to be a giant piece of stone to turn some of the wire and metal into plates. Preferably scrap metal. Weld them together and such. "Wire doesn't make robots. Well. Not all of the robot. They need an outside piece."

Xavrax, thinking ahead of him, sprays himself with what he assumes to be pheremones, instead it turns out to be raw sewage.
What luck!

ponder the effectiveness and price of unmanned paper planes while figuring out how to get to the Sealed Arm and drinking tea out of that one guy's skull(after skinning his head, severing his head, and sealing his skull somehow so the tea stays in it) .

Follow bob, while making an observation of who is trying to lead and who is trying not to.

Ch'thul walks alongside bob, discussing in their language, about the odd habits of non-squidpeople. Especially humans.
