My favorite is Stella Artois. I have also developed a taste for the infamous Pabst Blue Ribbon. Hipsterdom, here I come.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Frankly, each time I hear someone saying they like Stella Artois, what I hear is "I love a good burger, McDonalds FTW!". Not that it's bad, but it's so... uninteresting? It's a Pils after all, and we have so many better beers around here.

One of the beers I tried recently that I actually really liked was Mill St.'s Coffee Porter.

I did have some British ale though, but for me it tasted horribly. How can anyone drink that stuff?

What did you drink? 'British ale' encompasses a huge range of styles and beers.

Well I think the beer was called Newcastle brown ale (translated). I also drank Belgian ale - Stella Artois, which tasted better for me than Newcastle ale. I don't really like the sweet taste in my beer, and that ale was pretty sweet for me.

Ah, yeah. Newcastle brown is only really acceptable to drink in a smoky bar, waiting for your turn at the pool, while sporting a scraggly hobo beard and moustache of some description. I don't think anyone under 60 ever drinks it anymore.

No matter how many times we say it, they never seem to get it.

Not all American beers are the mass produced swill.

Craft beers here are the way to go.  Although I will admit to enjoying a Grain Belt or two...and honestly Budweiser isn't too bad all things considered, it's the light beer you have to avoid.  Or Coors.

Because you keep all your good beers for yourself, capitalist swines! Send some of them to glorious communist Europe and we'll change our minds, maybe.

Actually, I found an american trappist beer recently (first one brewed outside Europe), and it was quite good. But the rumor is that they imported Belgian consultants and yeast.

The poll doesn't have an option for "I prefer locally produced swill."  Biased against Marylanders.

I recently found that the only form of alcohol I can drink and not be sickened by the flavor is Guinness. Not sure what kind it was, though. We went to a local "traditional Irish pub" and I picked something off of the menu that looked interesting. Turns out Guinness and lemonade is pretty good. Also is one of the nicest-looking drinks around when layered.

Ah, canned bread. Great for cooking, makes a mean cheddar-ale soup.

Try Guinness and blackcurrant.

Most beer me and my buddies consume tend to be party piss like Natty Light or Coors light from a keg.

Bleh.

Who would waste a perfectly good keg on light beer?

I mean, I don't drink from a keg (unless draft counts), but if the intention of getting a keg is getting everyone drunk, light beer seemed counter intuitive.

I...uh...think it's Coors light

It could be stale water that someone left a bread loaf in

It just occurred to me. Guinness is bread in a can, so I bet it would make a mean loaf of bread. Like, bread squared.

timferius, do not stick your Guiness in a bread maker.  Bad things will result.
