17th of Opal, 128: More Bounties and the Current StatusWell, another year is going to finish off, and I'm practicing my swordstrikes when one wrestler announces hes now a speardwarf. Strange, but I couldn't care less. I also saw two other dwarves bringing in some cages which were howling and growling. Cmega3 and Karkov both laughed at me when I asked what the hell were they carrying. They showed me that Cmega3 was carrying a coyote and KArkov was carrying a wolf. I asked if this is the product of that plan that the fool left behind. They looked at eachother and then said they have no idea who the fool is, but they said the deceased expedition leader had planned it all. It was supposed to be some sort of defense against invaders if they came, but I see only a hoard of animals here... And skunks... Lots of skunks...
I took a stroll outside for a bit on my break and felt the cold air bite into my degrading clothes. We're gonna get some leather clothes soon, but how soon is that? The spear-wielding wrestler is wearing clothes from fallen goblins as is a good portion of us. I'm mostly clothed in my armor, which isn't saying too much, being just mail and chain leggings. I currently decided I will take up dual wielding. ((OOC: I'm gonna try and use a sword/axe dual weild if I can, but I have to get an axe first...)) Two swords, one short in left, and longsword from the goblins in right, I shall be a furious storm of blades, like the storm of snow that beats down on us, and me right now. I cant tell how long it is until spring arrives, but I know this freezing weather will never truly go away, and we'll still have to endure alone.
We got a great force of soldiers, and I know we can deal with almost anything that comes up at us. We're still 17 strong, but our stores are going up. We no longer starve and our people have nice bedrooms and our grand dining hall. I got a rough sketch of what the place looks like. I'm rather proud of it, as crude as it is:
Bedrooms
Gate/Barracks/"Barracks"
Farms/Cistern
My Bedroom/Noble Quarters
Stockpiles
Workshops
Dining Hall
Regardless, I'm heading back inside from the barracks upper floor. Until the channeling by the gate is completed, we can't really put the bridge down. Until then, this is the only way into the fortress. I have no issues with that, but I wish that we don't have to deal with more goblins and kobalds in the meantime.
