Toehook hooted happily! Big Tooth was clumsy and easy to knock down!

This time, he oriented on the meaty left leg, slashing down at the thick muscles. But, he was moving quick-the Bigtooth used that long tail of his it seemed, when he was encircled...he didn't want to get smacked up again...

Action: Slash it's left leg, then scoot out of range before the tail swipe!

((OOC: I wonder if there's any bonus to guessing my enemies move and acting appropriately toward it?))

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Toehook noticed another hunter attacking alongside him.

"Hey, this is my leg! Go get your own!"

(nothing I can think of. How about weak trees(that could be timbered on to the Acrocanthosaurus))

Charge in and bite the Arms

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

You scratch away at it's face doing a little damage.
((Attack/Damage roll? And am I still pinned?))

((If you're asking where your attack roll was it's in () after the description of your action and description from your perspective of results that most directly affected you.

You scratch away at it's face doing a little damage.
*snip*
(4-1 vs 1+1, 2 Damage) *snip*

Well yes, since it just happened this turn you are still pinned.

btw technically the only possible action while pinned is to attempt to wiggle out. But practically you probably want to add a conditional because it's likely to get up or roll off you within the next turn allowing other actions anyway.

The optimal form is probably 'If it gets off me do X, else attempt escape'))

((OOC: I wonder if there's any bonus to guessing my enemies move and acting appropriately toward it?))

((That seems reasonable. Although considering how huge even a +1 is in this system it might be something like a chance of a +1. I'll think about it a bit before I run the turn.))

1. I thought that was the Bigtooth's attack roll.

2. What am I pinned by? Didn't the Bigtooth fall over?

Oh. I thought it stepped on me.

Wriggle out from under Bigtooth. If I am not pinned, get up and climb a tree.

Sorry I'll try to make it more explicit which roll is which in future. But there's a rule of thumb, any attack roll in your turn is something you did. The Bigtooth's is in his turn.

Yes it fell on you, it's not intentionally holding you down, it's just sprawled across your legs or something. Functionally that seemed the same as the effect applied by it's special move, although logically he can't bite you while he's lying on top of you.

Turn in a sec

Dino Arena - Turn 6 - Bigtooth Rolls Well
« Reply #86 on: October 08, 2013, 09:11:19 pm »

Alrighty, it's prone and I'm stealthed... ish. :P

Ambush and attack on that belly.
Cling to said belly.

I will not be happy until that thing's trying to survive with half of its entrails hanging out!

Unfortunately you miss completely. How does that even work? It's the size of a house!

(Attack 4+1 [Situational bonus from Hidden] Vs 6, Miss)

Claw its eyes again! Hold on!

You scamper from it's back up to it's head and claw at it's eyes. Unfortunately you do this rather clumsily and when it bucks it's head one of your shoulders is wrenched painfully. But since you are so nimble you don't fall off.

(Attack 1 vs 6, Botch; 10 dmg taken) (Cunning 5+2 Still Riding)

Toehook hooted happily! Big Tooth was clumsy and easy to knock down!

This time, he oriented on the meaty left leg, slashing down at the thick muscles. But, he was moving quick-the Bigtooth used that long tail of his it seemed, when he was encircled...he didn't want to get smacked up again...

Action: Slash it's left leg, then scoot out of range before the tail swipe!

((OOC: I wonder if there's any bonus to guessing my enemies move and acting appropriately toward it?))

You dart in and slash it's left leg then scoot away again to Medium range.

(Attack 5+2 vs 5, Damage 4)

Suddenly on Bigtooth's turn, pain as a bunch of sharp things scrape along your side. Apparently you didn't get quite far enough.

(20 Damage Taken)

Quote from: Bigtooth
Stand up, bite the thing that hurt me!

You stand up.

That would be Dwarmin. You open your maw and swing your whole head like a hatchet, swiping at the little Hunter. You hit but don't manage to close your teeth on him.

(Attack 4+2 vs 4, Damage 20)

latch onto the weaker leg and tear the tendons to pieces.

Your pounce goes quite poorly and you bump your head on it's knee.

(Attack 3+1 vs 5+2, Botch, 10 dmg taken)

(nothing I can think of. How about weak trees(that could be timbered on to the Acrocanthosaurus))

Charge in and bite the Arms

You move back to Close range and try to disarm your foe. Good try but it doesn't go your way. It's already standing again and it the arms waggle out of your grasp as you lunge for them.

(6-1 vs 5+2, Miss)

Oh. I thought it stepped on me.

Wriggle out from under Bigtooth. If I am not pinned, get up and climb a tree.

After a few second the pressure lessens as it rises back to it's feet. You're free! You get up and run to a nearby tree that's Medium range from the Bigtooth.

I liked the part where Mastahcheese was riding on the Bigtooth's head while it snapped at Dwarmin.
That mental image made me laugh.
