Ah. Yeah, it's hard to design a trigger event for that. As it happens, replace "advice and information" with "powers" and you have the power of one of the more infamous villains of the Wormverse.
The doorbell rings.
"The pizza must be here. Could you grab the coupon, Kevin?"
"Sure, Sis."
Kevin went into the kitchen, retrieving the coupon they got with the last pizza they had ordered. It was a never-ending cycle; they got two or three coupons with each pizza, but couldn't use more than one or two whenever they had some delivered. They had a lot more pizza coupons than they could ever use. First-world problems.
Kevin heard his sister scream. He hurried to the entrance.
In the door was a man in a white bodysuit, not an inch of skin or color showing from head to toe. Black dye and two black lenses darkened the fabric at the chest and on the face, forming a crude image of ribs and a skull. The skull-face turned towards Kevin, who froze in place.
"Hello, there. You must be this stupid girl's brother. See, your sister has failed to understand a vital lesson...listen to your betters. And now, she will never learn it. What a waste."
Kevin watched as his sister reached down to her already-bloody arm and scratched at it more. And more. And more. Soon, she was pulling up bits of flesh. She was screaming through a rigid jaw, and Kevin could do nothing about it.
Nothing.
Kevin's sister stopped screaming, but still raked the flesh off of her arm. Soon, it was almost entirely bone, the flesh lying in bloody strips on the floor.
"Now...what shall I do with you?"
Kevin felt his hand moving towards his own arm, and scratched at it. It bled. Kevin looked at his sister. How long until the same happened to him?
He blinked long, and saw the villain who killed his sister on the floor, stunned. Kevin walked over to him and stomped. And stomped. And stomped. And suddenly, he was straining, but could not do anything.
"Fuck. You."
Kevin fell over, his legs jerking to a bent position. His sister's body was brought up like a puppet, and walked to Kevin. She raked at his face, his neck, any bit of exposed flesh. Kevin bled. He felt a tingling, in his head and matched where the blood flowed. Slowly, the pressure in his limbs weakened. Kevin finally broke free, rolling away from his sister. The blood continued to flow, the tingling continued also. He hurled himself at the villain, who was backing away in fear. Kevin's sister attacked him from behind, but he no longer noticed. The villain was beaten, punched, kicked. He retreated, favoring one leg. Kevin began to chase, but then he saw his arms.
Across his arms were intricate patterns, drawn in blood.
Kevin's power is surprisingly simple. He has minor sanguinokinesis, sufficient in dexterity to allow him to trace the designs on his arms accurately. These designs give whoever they are sketched on various powers. Kevin has discovered five designs. One grants power resistance or immunity, one grants fairly minor super-strength and durability, one greatly increases the weight of whatever body part it is drawn on, and two will be decided by you.
(Don't blame me, blame the folks on the Worm chatroom. Who inspired me to make this power.)
1. Kevin's sister was dead, a battered supervillain was sent from his door, and his arms are covered in bloody runes. What will Kevin do? The police and perhaps local heroes will be here any minute...
2. What were those two other designs you discovered?
3. Did he take any preparations for becoming a cape? If so, what were they?
4. Was Kevin hoping to be a superhero, supervillain, rogue, or what?
Alright. I've finally finished these things! Tomorrow I intend to flesh out the world, and Saturday perhaps we can start.
Would someone mind trying to find any consensus on when and where to set the game? I don't remember any forming, and I should get to bed almost two hours ago, given my cold and how frikkin' late I stayed up last night.
