Stale Bread: $1.00 (we can afford to break even on bread if we get them to drink the ale)
Ale: $1.75
Half-baked Mashed Potato: $1.25
Stew: $3

Sound good?

I'm a bit late, but perhaps I can participate. I couldn't help noticing that the potatoes were $.5 for two, but the pricing for profit was unspecified, so perhaps it's $1.5-$2 in order to profit, when sold in the quantities we purchased them, therefore, we could sell them for $.75-$1.00 each and make a modest amount. Also, do we do happy hour? or any sort of adventurer discount (for example, when an adventurer passes through everyone currently in the place receives a free ale)?

As far as jobs are concerned, I agree that we should go about asking them what they're in to and going from there. Also, our place is a dump, lets see what we're competing with, whoever our informant is needs to go out and check out our competition and talk to locals about the places we're sending adventurers.

Also, it seems there are six of us, and only five real positions, which means one person should be proficient with everyone's positions and we can have that person (presumably the individual we represent) cover each persons shifts one day at a time, that way each person gets a day off every six days (standard work weeks don't matter when you're poor). Using it can be Malon has the first day, Carack has the second, Willow the third, George the fourth, Horace the fifth, and us the sixth, then it resets, or we're just closed the 7th day, but I think that would be bad.

We do not do adventurer discounts, and you do not purchase your shipments, they are provided for you every day. The purchasing prices where more a baseline example, but your logic is sound. However, what an NPC is willing to pay must come into account. And your place is a dump because it has not been cleaned yet. Every Night you will get a chance to tidy up the Inns various parts.

Our character runs the bar in the Inn at all times, so they can gather and give information. People are much easier to get information from when their drunk. Your siblings do not have a Morale system attached to them, however hired help may in the future.

ok, so as of yet, it appears any money we receive is profit. of the five occupations we appear to be bartender (unlisted, assumed). I will ask my siblings what of the five jobs each of them would prefer, each gives an optimal choice and their second choice, and if they refuse to participate I tell them I will assign their jobs as such and will have them rotate through each week until I find out who's best at which job:

Chef - Carack
Waiter #1 - Malon
Waiter #2 - Willow
Informant - Horace
Shopkeeper - George

During slow hours I will be busy at the forge working on our item list while one of the waiters will have to tend the bar (which is why I have designations between #1/#2).

((You don't have a forge yet, a forge is used to create your own gear to sell, you don't need one to improve items with your blacksmith skill. either way, turn will be written after school for me.))

Day 1 (A story begins)

Just before the Day started, you asked your siblings what they would feel most comfortable doing/what they were good at. Horace informed everyone that he was a half decent cook and offered to work as the chef. George also stated he was good at explaining things just well enough for people to take risks, so you placed him as your informant. The others told you they did not think they had any relevant skills, so you assigned the rest to the remaining rolls and started the day.

A couple of locals entered after a few minutes, ordering a couple ale and sitting down to drink. They talked to eachother about the monsters of the forest, mostly wolves, but with a large black bear roaming about. No regular monsters had been sighted so far, but that could always change. They payed 4.5$ for the drinks and left. (luck roll 16) While waiting for other customers, you cleaned up the bar a bit, the Bar is now dusty.

A man dressed in Fine Leather Armor soon after, carrying an Average Long Bow. He inquired about places where he could hunt and fight monsters. George explained there were a couple of small wolf packs running around the Forest, and could do with cleaning out. The man nodded and said he'd probably head out that evening, before ordering some cold soups, handing over 3.5$ as payment before sitting at a table and eating.

As the day went by, another 3 locals entered and bought another 2 ale, one buying a stale loaf of bread. They talked of personal trouble and were of no concern to you or your siblings. They left paying 6$ for the lot. One of them complained a little about the price of the ale, but the others shrugged it off, it seemed fair to them.

As evening fell, the hunter asked if there was anything that we wanted from the forest, or if there was any other information he should know. You could ask him to gather pelts or mushrooms of some such, but a reward will be in order if you do.

Offer Him A weeks worth of board and drink if he would not only bring us wolf pelts that could be used for decoration but also if he brings back their meat wolf fillet and wolf steak it would add intrest to our menu and a meat item which everybody likes meat also if the deal works out i can see having a hunter and hopefully a decent archer in our pocket could be good.

+1

Also, how many rooms do we have, and what are typical lodging prices in this area? Also, what is this area and its surroundings like?

Inn:
-x5 Filthy Rooms
The normal lodging price was given as an average 10$ for a normal room for a night, though not many would pay that considering the rooms current conditions.

The surrounding town has many different shops and services, including blacksmiths, carpenters, enchanters, sorcereress', and several surrounding farms. There is a forest nearby, as well as the cave. You've heard rumors of a swamp before, but no directions yet.

If no item is selected to be improved using the blacksmith skill, then I will choose one at random.

We seriously need an oven. How come we are selling cold soup?

Too cook things costs money to power the heating crystals in the obligatory oven you have. it costs .5$ to heat soup and 1$ to cook starting meat.
