Innkeeper (Cado Edition)
« on: September 23, 2013, 12:36:23 am »

((Before you post hate for copying Cheesecake, please read through, or skip to the note at the bottom.))

You are a new innkeeper, having the family inn given to you after you father was imprisoned for various crimes. Your inn is in the Hamlet of Origins, or Hoo, in the continent of Aegeron [Ee-ger-on], a land polluted with black magic and foul monsters. Humanity in the region seemed doomed, until an event known as the Dawn caused average humans from other continents to magically appear in Aegeron and gain superhuman abilities. They are known as Heroes.

Inns are created to help Heroes, give them information on Bosses, buy and sell loot, give them advice and directions, and to provide food and lodging. Your inn is located in the Hamlet of Origins, and your inn is one of two in the fair town. Your job is to nudge them along, supply and arm, and motivate them to defeat the first Boss. You must give them Quests, and reward them accordingly. To gain the funds to create rewards, general NPC customers appear daily. They buy food and drink, and pay you in GP.

B. Apprenticed as a Merchant [You worked as a merchants assistant when you were younger, gaining skill in bartering a higher price for most goods and Inn rooms. An increase of .5GP for all items, and a 2.5GP increase for rooms at no penlty to costs.]
C.  Apprenticed as a Maid/Butler [You worked as a Maid/Butler when you were younger, aquiring the skills neccisary to quickly and effieciently clean anything and everything. A x2 bonus is given to all cleaning efforts.]

((This is an Innkeeper game following quite similar rules to the one run by Cheesecake. I have contacted him and he has given me permission to run this. This Inn will be run as something of a rival of Ye Tree Meld. As is the case with different Gms, my flavor will differ from Cheesecakes, so bear with me))

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

Did you pick Selena White, aged 16, former blacksmith's apprentice, who likes magicians; owner of Ye Olde Spoon, which has a symbol of a triangle with a spoon over it and is known for its information?

No idea who the friend is, though. One vote for each...

Maybe it'll be someone who wasn't listed for the friend? Like the mayor?

Ye Olde Spoon Inn!

You are Selena, daughter of Tori and Tongs. You run the Ye Olde Spoon Inn with your 5 siblings, Carack, Malon, Willow, George, and Horace. It is your first day but you are all quite somber about it, your father being jailed and hung for his crimes all on your minds. But you all press on, focusing on the task at hand. You all clean up the place and get ready for the day, your siblings looking to you for guidance.

Unassigned Roles:

Chef
Waiter
Waiter
Informant
Shopkeeper

You all share the Inns earnings so no wages need to be payed to your siblings. You don't know their skills and abilities yet, but time will tell what their good at. You have prices for food to be set, so you start there. Hopefully would-be adventurers will last long enough to make regular returns to the Inn. Luckily, you can improve your shops items due to your work as a blacksmith a year ago.

The current Menu:

-Stale Bread
[x1 Bread; +2 HP; $???]
-Lukewarm Ale
[x1 Ale; +1 Str/2 Turns; $???]
-Half-baked Mashed Potato
[x1 Potato; +1 Dex/2 Turns; $???]
-Cold Soup
[x1 Water; x1 Potato; x1 Carrot; +1 Vit, +1 Int/2 Turns; $???]

The Inn gets a daily shipment of 10 Ale and 10 assorted vegetables. This should keep you going for a few days or so, and the order can always be changed the next night before. Whoever does the cooking could also try experimenting every day or so to get more exotic recipes up on the menu.

The current areas available to send adventurers to are the Forest and the Dark Cave.

Workers:

-Carack [No Role]
[? Skills] [Wage: $0]
-Malon [No Role]
[? Skills] [Wage: $0]
-Willow [No Role]
[? Skills] [Wage: $0]
-George [No Role]
[? Skills] [Wage: $0]
-Horace [No Role]
[? Skills] [Wage: $0]

Inn:

-x5 Filthy Rooms
[$10+2.5/Night]
-x10 Uneven Tables
-x1 Grimy Bar
-x1 Dry Well [x2 Water/Day]

Supplies:

-x10 Potatoes
-x10 Carrots
-x5 Pork
-x10 Water
-x10 Ale
-x10 Stone
-x1 Map

Shop:

-x2 Shoddy Wooden Sword
-x2 Cracked Rowan Wood Bow
-x10 Wood Arrows
-x1 Traveling Boots

((Well, theres your opening. I hope I changed it up enough for you guys, and hope the flavor is too your liking. You'll likely see more changes as the game progresses, so any feedback is appreciated.))

Ask your sibilings what they feel most confident with, and assign jobs accordingly. Otherwise, just throw a dice to assign jobs.

We must get to business.

What are some baselines to compare prices to?

Bread can be bought for 0.5-1$ so 1.5-2$ would be a profit.

Same rule applies to Ale.

Potatos can be bought at 0.5$ for 2, but because their cooked slightly, 1.5-2$ would be a profit.

The soup requires 1$ worth of food to make, so 2.5-3.5$ would be a profit.

((Note, this the only help with pricing I will give. And you do not pay $ for your daily shipment, it is free. You may ask around town for what the average prices for some things are, but the information will not always be reliable, and you won't be able to do so until Day 2.))
