We see tanks differently... for you it's mobile bunker, for me it's mobile fire support. Early helicoters indeed quite week, but that's investment in future, something that need to be done from trime to time

Mobile bunker can be useful, too... I offered slow armored tank some time back, it indeed would be useful for defending crow island, now it's not needed.... We are on counterattack, and should we push them out fortifications are not needed, because enemy will have no strength to try that again

And tabks are rather useless, even if we produce hundred or so, It's not very useful in our reconquest of Crow island

I actually see them as a mix of those two roles. Either way, we cannot afford that investment at this time. Our armour DOES need updating, and it is a necessity. And I do agree with you that it would be worth to invest something in them, it's the timing of that investment.

And if we make the tanks portable by a troop lander, they could be VERY useful for retaking the actual island.

Except that would require us to wait a year to build them.
Our counter attack is taking place 3 days into the new year.

We could more than likely get a full unit ready in time for the invasion. Sure, that's only 3-4 tanks but our enemy is certainly not expecting them.

Not much point really, 3-4 would make little difference.

Even 30-40 tanks will not change situation much, 300-400 maybe yes,  But in no way we can produce those that fast...

I don't feel we can automagically produce a plan for a tank from thin air

(that's why I have to dismiss the Rockets for Raven idea, if that is specifically for Crow Island. Design that beforehand, yes. During an invasion, humbug.)

I doubt Crow's Island is large enough to support a full armour brigade. They they do have the advantage by literally not being known by the Moldavians until we set the tanks onto them, and I rather doubt they have any serious anti-armour weapons with them (The mule isn't really an armoured vehicle so much as a tin-can on a chassis. Was more than likely target practice for the Moldavian tanks.

Or a BFG as anti tank rifles are still possable if we use say a 20mm+ round .

Or an anti tank rifle.

I mean, tanks of this age aren't very well armored. A decent antitank rifle can snipe one from half a kilometer away.

Our main service 30 or 40mms would make a very good AT weapon for infantry.

Hell, even Ospreys would be a better AT solution than designing a tank NOW.

I like the rpg more then anti tank. Gives us a lot of useful experience.
